GSW are shameless, and I hope Stern punishes them by having teams jump them! I went to bed at the starting of the 4th when they had a 14-point lead. They're not even trying to conceal their tank-job. Who is a big enough loser to actually go to a Golden State home game--unless your wanting to see how well they tank in each game. Last night was an epic tank.

Shameful performance by the W's.

Had McGuire on Deron at the end, allowing D WIll just drive and dish to a cutting wide open man. They did not want to score in the 4th either.

And the last play was pathetic.
 
This is why some of us wanted them to stay in the playoff hunt.

Stupid NJ should've never let this happen, though. They need to lose as well, to give themselves the best chance possible of getting into the top 3, otherwise they lose their pick, too.

Haha, no offense. It was more anger speaking there, but it made me wonder why their fans would go to watch them lose on purpose. They're not the Globetrotters after all. Third row tickets--that's pretty cool!

yeah, this is a problem with the W's organization, but the NBA is structured in a way that promotes it. Yet another reason to wish I wasn't a basketball fan.
 
If the Warriors keep their pick this year, it's still likely that the Jazz will get the pick next year. The Warriors can't just keep having zombie seasons for the sake of getting a lotto pick.

After Detroit winning and Sacramento playing NJ tonight, there will be 2 teams within a game of GS. There is about a 5 % chance of GS ending up lower than 7th at this point. We need the lottery to be generous, as well as a coin toss most likely.
 
I asked Ws fans on another forum if they'll tank next season to keep from giving the Jazz a top-6 protected pick. They think they're going to compete for the playoffs next year. .....mmmmm...not sure about that.

Actually, if Curry and Kwame had stayed healthy, they would still be in the playoff hunt THIS year. Right now, they are 7 games out of the 8th seed. Take away some of the losses they've racked up by tanking, and several close losses earlier due to players being out, and they'd be either in the playoffs right now, or only a few games out.

If Curry and Bogut are healthy, I have no doubt they'll be a playoff team next year, and could be as high as 4 or 5. As it is right now, there are only 4.5 games seperating the 4th seed from being out of the playoffs.

If Curry and Bogut have injury problems, then we could very well be looking at them tanking again next year. In which case, I think I will put my head through a wall.

There are only 4.5 games between the 4th seed and being out of the playoffs. Not long ago, I believe it was down to 2 games. So that means if they're a fringe playoff team, they're only a few games from being a 4 or 5 seed. Unlike you, I'm not going to pretend I know exactly where they'll end up. Therefore, I'll admit that you're half right in that the pick could be 2-3 spots higher than 20, but you're wrong if you think it couldn't easily be in the twenties.

Either way, we're still looking at a lower pick in a draft that will be considerably weaker. The point of all this is that we will be getting a pick that is MUCH lower in value compared to getting it this year, even IF you were right about the placement of the pick, which you probably aren't.:cool:

I've been thinking.
All last season we heard about how the 2011 draft was particularly if not historically weak. In spite of this Utah ended up getting Kanter as the third pick which by all accounts seems to be a not too shabby pick, as well as what may be an absolute steal in Burks at no 12. I am very skeptical of experts declaring one draft substantially stronger or weaker than others. The NBA draft just seems to me to be an absolute crapshoop sometimes. What do you lot think?
