After reading the reaction from fans here, why would Hayward do any favors for Utah?

After how Checketts has acted?

The ridiculously huge deal over not calling Gail?

Tell me again, why does Gordon owe Utah anything? He fulfilled his contract. He's obligations ended on July 1st.

Because the training and coaching staff helped make him who he is? It's not like he was some instant all star it took him 7 long seasons to become one.
In another team's system he could have just ended up a roleplayer. 99% of us thought he was a finished product when he signed that last max contract, go back and
look if you doubt it. Quin drove him to be an all star.

With all the fallout and speculation that has gone on, I think this is going to follow Hayward for the rest of his career. He handled it much worse than Lebron's decision, and people still sometimes get on him for that. But Lebron didn't owe the Cavs for making him like Gordon owes the Jazz. And Lebron was much more open about it and took the heat while Hayseed whimped out the back door.

Yes, the staff helped. But in the end, it was Hayward's hard work that got him where he is. Quin didn't drive him to be an All Star.

I don't think anyone thought he was finished then. I know I thought he had potential to be a 25 point a night scorer.

Yeah, I can only hope that Hood, Exum, Mitchell, etc can put in the same work that Hayward has. I think they all have potential to be very good players and borderline all stars, Exum especially. I basically consider last year to be Exums rookie year as far as development goes.

1. Celtics don't need a 2nd round pick. They already have more than they can use.
2. Celtics help a potential competitor. Boston needs another "star" somehow. Giving Utah $30M to freely use - without having to clear cap room - puts Utah in direct competition.

It makes absolutely ZERO sense for Boston to give Utah a TPE. Sorry to say, but if the Jazz were in the reverse situation, Utah should try to get an asset out of Team X and ask for at least a protected first.
