What's new

I'm Back: Toronto Raptors at Utah Jazz Wednesday, January 25th - 7 PM

Sap is sooooooooooooooo much better than Boozer it's not even funny.

Could you imagine if we could have gone to 07 with this version of Millsap starting while bringing Boozer off the bench?

We could have possibly taken the Spurs out that year...
Boozer 11 points, 37 minutes tonight's game. I can't wait for him to come to town and get Millslapped by Mansap.

This game is going to bite us when we're fighting against Denver and OKC for 1st-3rd seed in the West...

Not sure about that. Sap could never run the pick n roll as good as Boozer could.

Anyone notice Brian Smith is completely MIA? No twitter, no articles on the game tonight that I saw. Everything done by Tony Jones and Luhm. What did I miss?

Gotta love David Locke. From his "Noggin" column tonight: "Raja continues his good play tonight going 3/6 for 11 points." Not mentioned is those 11 points came in 38 minutes to go along with 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 steal. But that defense was something to see boy.

He tweeted a few days ago that he was away for several days, maybe a week. Personal vacation maybe? Sick family member or funeral? Beats me.

Yes, but Millsap can hit shots outside of 3 feet.
Boozer put up numbers because of the pick n roll, and will never put up consistant numbers again out of that system.
Millsap creates his own shots, and therefore is a "go to guy".

Disgusting loss. Waiting so long for this game, and then....the Raps beat us on the back end of a b2b @ home? Puke.
There were some fun things to watch. The 1st QT, Kanter's dunks and block, Favors dunks and block, Sap's huge 3, and Harris's start.

Harris was looking perfect early. That's just what we need from him. Then he finds a way to blow it. 3 missed Fts in OT? really?

Glad i woke up at 6am, got my milschkaffe, and prepared to watch a beat down. Didn't think it would be us getting smacked.
Toronto is hot right now. Congrats to them, shame on us.

Still, back if we were back in '07, Boozer would still be a better option than Millsap. He was great last night, but he was still neutralized in much of OT by Amir Johnson on post-ups. He came up with some big shots, but he wasn't creating anything in the post against Johnson.

I am not an X's and O's oriented fan, but, i have always been taught that the way to break a zone defense was to shoot over it. High screens opening up shots and knocking them down. But last night as Boler/Harp discussed the Jazz' problem with the zone this is not what they were saying the Jazz needed to do. It's not something we have even try'd to do. Only when we could not get into anything and the shot clock is expiring do we take an outside shot. Anyone understand what exactly the Jazz philosophy is and what they are trying to do? Cause it ain't working.

Because their strength isn't shooting. You can't shoot yourself out of a zone if you can't shoot the ball. Our strength is attacking the rim and interior scoring.

I would want Hayward to attempt to shoot over it, but he had the confidence of a mouse last night.

Exactly Cyrone ! Since this "problem" (and it is a BIG problem) has existed for years. Why have they not moved to fix this situation ? Seems to me they are trying to pound a "square" solution into a "round" hole. You can't win, if all know, that just
throw a zone at them and they are toast. F-R_U_S_T_R_A_T_I_O_N !!! I also feel that Gordon Hayward can shoot just fine but the team philosophy does not facilitate this with him or anyone else. Hayward is a basket case at this point and he was not like this until this season started.

@gordonhayward: Tough one tonight....very frustrating...can and will be better next game #improveeveryday

So that means he'll destroy some people in Dallas? Hopefully...

I personally think Tye was to blame for the loss last night. His rotations were terrible. He didn't adapt to what the Raptors were doing at all. During overtime, Harris, Bell, and Hayward all passed up multiple wide open shots and looked like they had zero confidence to score. I mean, I hate Miles, but we need to shoot to win and he's at least not afraid to chuck. Growing pains from a team that growing like a 12 year old boy.

Also, why did Howard get so many minutes? You got to ease him back into the rotation, guy.
