JazzFanz Forum Mock - Selection Thread

Dude, you probably would've gotten him at #54 too. lol There were still better players (defensive players) to pick at #42.

I haven't researched any 2nd rounders this year. I scanned the mock draft and watched one highlight of him.

He actually looks pretty damn good. So I'm happy with it.

Hard to knock someone for taking a second round scoring PG on a team that already has defense, but could use some offense off the bench... especially if Burke doesn't become more consistent. He's got some drawbacks, but what second round pick doesn't.

Joseph Young was a fine pick. I'm not sure he would have made it to 54.

Pat Connaughton was the guy I was trying to trade back into the draft for. Was hoping I could pull it off. I love his profile as a possible 2nd round pick that actually makes it.

I think Bryce Cotton was doing a wonderful job. But yeah, whatevs, it's just a mock neway.

The Lakers have been trying to arrange a trade up since pick 35 and they were not able to. Well the great thing is that the guy they wanted slipped all the way to 44! Wow! What a perfect draft! And now for the announcement...

With the 44th pick of the JazzFanz Forum Mock draft the Los Angeles Lakers select Anthony Brown, Small Forward, Stanford University...

This is a guy that screams role player and screams great role player(read - Danny Green, Kris Middleton type). He has great measurables at 6'7'', with 6'11.25'' wingspan and 8'8.5'' standing reach with above average lateral quickness, which allows him to be a good defender, who might improve into a great defender with the appropriate coaching an NBA team might provide. But the best part is that he shot 46% from 3 last year in college and 44% this year. He's one of the best shooters in this draft and will complement great the first round pick of the Lakers D'Angelo Russell whose under-appreciated attribute is his ability to distribute the ball and find perimeter shooters and put the ball right into their shooting pocket.

(I wouldn't be surprised if a team picks him late in the first in the real draft)

It was more of a best player available pick.

The Jazz are set at every position practically. Any pick would have been redundant.

I disagree. He wasn't the best player available. I've watched the nba combine and I am surprise no one hasn't selected the one player that also did so well yet.

So am I gonna be penalized for drafting Michael Qualls before learning that he had torn his ACL ?????

If so I would like to be able to change that pick.

Write down your replacement pick in case Ellis allows it, in a similar way we allowed for people to change their picks for international players that withdrew from the draft.

I'll allow a change. We knew he'd been hurt, but not the extent of it. You can pick any player that is still left on the board, and Qualls will go back into the draft pool.

OK...

Then for the 40th pick in the 2015 NBA draft, the Miami Heat selects...

Andrew Harrison of the University of Kentucky aka the Next Dwayne Wade

Done. I'll update the 1st post. Michael Qualls is back on the board for anyone who wants to take a chance on him despite his injury.
