Multiple meniscus tears and procedures to scoop out the damaged tissue are the worst injuries you can believably have from playing basketball. That’s the issue that has taken Lonzo off the floor for two years and ended Brandon Roy’s career. From the perspective of people that have access to the best that sports medicine provides, they are worse injuries than full ligament ruptures.

Meniscus (the large cartilage pads on top of the tibia that femur sits atop) is terribly difficult to heal. The healing process is problematic enough and takes so much time that the VAST majority of the time, the intervention to remedy the issue is to just remove tissue which at that point cannot grow back (because it has very minimal blood supply).

Sensabaugh has had those procedures multiple times before 20 years old. We don’t need detailed medical records to be concerned that he might already be toast (notwithstanding the possibility of having his meniscus replaced which is basically a brand new procedure).
What’s your background in medicine?

Have you applied to work for the Jazz yet?

I have an associates degree in Health Sciences, was a human anatomy (cadaver) lab teaching assistant at SLCC, got my EMT (and CNA). Also just love anatomy and sports medicine. Probably should have stayed on the nursing track but life kinda knocked me off of it but I’m glad to not be scared I’m gonna kill someone in the transition to getting proficient and water tight.

You don’t have to take my word for it (and I’m not sure why you think I’m so creative and dedicated to bullshitting, but I digress), this covers the topic pretty well:

Cool, you got a chart on Sensabaugh or are you just guessing what his actual current knee issue is? Because if he actually had an actively torn meniscus, I don't think they would be throwing out the "100% ready for training camp" quote.

It would seem to me, with your medical background, you would know the difference between a diagnosis and hearsay. . .

“Chart”? It doesn’t require specialist level knowledge to say that meniscus tears are a big ****ing problem. And the knowledge that that has occurred is all over the internet.

I would be less worried about an ACL tear.
