What's new

Major love from BR power rankings

Wait until we start 10-0 and see how the hype goes through the roof.

I still have the Clips, Raps and Celts in a tier above the Jazz. Utah's in the next tier with Charlotte, Atlanta, Indiana, Memphis, Portland, OKC and Dallas (Charlotte, Atlanta and OKC may belong a tier below the others).

Until the Jazz prove otherwise, you're right. I think they will prove otherwise.

You mean for projected record or overall better team? Certainly some teams in the East will finish with better records simply because the West will have two 60 win teams again (at least, Warriors might win 70 again).

I am very satisfied where we are right now. We will get built up by some media and underestimated by others. We just need to work hard, get 100% healthy, and take care of business to start the year.

Yup, Jazz got healthy and DL addressed 2-3 times over every single need this team had. He annihilated this off season.

Vets leadership - check
PG play - check
Bench depth - check
Outside shooting - check
Spacing - check
Jettison dead weight - check
Maintain long term cap flexibility - check
Maintain adequate picks the next several years - check
Maintain chemistry - check

At this point the only two somewhat legit arguments IMO are:

1. DL didn't act last year
2. That he didn't get more/act sooner for some assets/players

Both those are also very debated.

EXCELLENT POST A+++ WOULD READ AGAIN

Chicago should be in one of these tiers.

Low key though, I can see us becoming that next great defensive squad. I think our floor will be the Memphis squad a few years ago that tore teams apart with their defense. Except we actually have wing players and scoring.

I could see us being 2004 Pistons good though if we can pull it all together. Maybe not this year, but next year or a year after.

Chicago could be decent against terrible defensive teams or terribly coached teams. It does look like a dumpster fire.

And ATlanta is still good. It's not like Dwight Howard sucks, he has just been on teams that don't fit him. I'm not sure if Atlanta fits him, but I think they will be more malleable than the Harden Rockets or the Dantoni/Kobe Lakers.

I really hope the O/U for Chicago is high. I'll probably lay down a few hundred on the under, because I guarantee they're going to be overrated as hell.

And Millsap will be the best power forward (at least in terms of fit) he's ever played with. Good point guard, good defense before him, they'll be good. It just remains to be seen how good.

I still have reservations about Schroeder as a full time starter.
