Minnesota open to trading #2 pick

That would be stupid to trade Sap to move up one spot. His value is better than this.

This would be to move us from 12 to 2. Netting us 2 of the top 3 players in the draft. Milsap is a great 6th man, but if we can turn him into a potential franchise PG, SF, or C -we have to take that chance.
The problem with this trade is the Wolves already have Love and Beasly. I'm not sure they would want to trade the pick for a 6th man of their own. Maybe they'd be interested in Devin Harris to keep Rubio's seat warm.
Also in consideration - what contracts would we have to take back to get the deal done?

How can we even try to top that deal?

I don't know why Indianna wouldn't pull the trigger on that. They would have their scoring PF in Beasely to go along with Hibbert down low, they could then draft Williams I guess to be SF. That would be an exciting, young starting 5: Collison-George-Williams-Beasely-Hibbert. I guess it would be a good trade for Minnesota too because it would give them a veteran player and give them more of a defined team. They still need a legitimate center badly though to pair alongside Love and I thought they would be looking hard at Kanter and Jonas (especially considering Kahn's love affair with Euro big men).

I just don't think this draft is all that great. Why go to great lengths, and drop assets, to trade into the 5-10 spot somewhere when that same group in next year's draft would be somewhere north of 15?

While this draft is devoid of any super-stars, I think it's an exceptioanlly deep draft for role players. Not just small role players, but big time role players.

The NBA is exceptionally deep with proven role players who may all be available for a draft pick and something else to plug holes we may have. If we are looking at moving assets, I would vote for doing it to trade for needs rather than for another pick in a mediocre draft HOPING to get a role player that fills the need.

Agree. And with the cap likely going lower, there might be some real bargains available for teams with room. With AK off the books and Memo's expiring available, Jazz might be able to make a sweet trade. Juts look at what Cleveland was able to pull off by taking Baron off the Clippers' hands.

If you wanna trade for picks do it for the 2012 draft. This one's not good enough.

yes, I'm still enamored of Biyombo but I don't know how to get him. Unless he does great in workout and then they can spend the 3rd pick on him, but I'm not confident in that at all right now.
