What's new

Nemanja Bjelica

Yeah, well the part that makes no sense is the insanity test..... keep doing the same thing over and over in hopes of a better result.... Obviously something besides a draft pick needs to change or we don't have a prayer. It seems that the FO is way too frightened to even make a simple upgrade like Namanja....how is that going to play out with our key players that really wanted him?? Can't sit back and look a gift horse in the mouth and expect to make it past the second round of playoffs. It is cool to show restraint but not to the point of falling completely asleep! Are we afraid to possibly hurt some current roster players feelings if one has to walk? We look like wusses that are under playing on some improrving

Jazzster? Really?

Everyone assumes we didn't talk with him... maybe we did and were really honest... like we don't think you will be in the rotation and he chose Philly instead. I think Philly is loading up depth pieces in case they make a Kawhi trade. If they move Saric/Covington they will have playing time available... if not then he rides the bench.

Don’t forget they lost Belinelli and illy who were both playing. They will really be able to use him, I think he’ll do well there regardless of if they make a trade or not

According to Woj looks like Jelly is jumping ship and playing in Europe .

Apparently he never signed his contract with Philly.

I wonder if that's why The Jazz didn't sign him or he's leaving because The Jazz didn't sign him.

Either way looks like he burned his NBA bridge .

If hes good enough he'll be picked up again. Big loss for Philly.

Not really. If he's still good in Europe, someone would sign him if he wanted. He possibly just really wanted to play in Europe for a bit. If that's what he wants, then more power to him.

If he was a major talent l'd agree. But a role player on the wrong side of 30 leaves a franchise hanging after a ton of NBA talent signs elsewhere and leaves them scrambling to fill a roster spot.....GMs remember stuff like that.

Oh, he won't be signed by Philly ever. But how Utah scored with Ingles also comes to the forefront as well. We'll see, but it could be he was done with the NBA as well.

Negotiating ploy??? How much room does the Jazz have under the tax or are we already at 15 players. Philly guy is saying he wants to be with his family so off to CSKA Moscow he goes (maybe).

He wanted to start, and the Jazz were most likely to offer him that at his preferred position.

The Jazz re-up’d Favors, and essentially there was no starting PF spots left. Makes sense, and also **** Philly lol

The plan all along was for him to go to Europe... DM told him Ben Simmons was a dick and he should mess with Philly before taking off.

No one is going to care. If he is good and he helps their team win, they sign him. The Jazz and Bulls still signed Carlos Boozer. The Mavericks still signed DeAndre Jordan this year.

The fact is, high end Euroleague money is pretty comparable to minimum salary NBA money. So why would someone want to sit on a bench and not really progress their career vs staring in Europe? He can still come to the NBA next year if he wants.

Plus the Sixers suck.

This. I'm sure he was expecting a nice payday and got disappointed by the offers. Euros go to the NBA for 1 the money, 2 experience and 3 chance at performing and striking it rich. Bjelica wasn't going to get that much money compared to Europe, his experience has been miserable, and he lost hope of striking it rich. Back to Europe to get more money, minutes, and fun.
