Restricted Free Agents to Pursue

Right now it seems like all the questionable players are extending at prices that are more than they are worth, but is a solid value bet for their franchises. So both sides are happy.

Seems like Okoro would be in that group who should probably take what he can get in an extension, but does Cleveland want to commit money?
Cleveland is in a bind money wise. Okoro likely to see his playing time drop if he isn't improved... if he is then they pay him next year imo. Would guess he goes into next year.

I think if guys like IQ and McDaniels aren't around Vassell money then they should wait. Minny will regret not locking up Jaden if they can get him for 30M a year-ish. Can absolutely see someone getting wild with him next year.

Everyone playing nice in the Quickley situation and saying the right things. What happens when Quickley has $120M waiting for him, but not from the Knicks? If I was his agent, I would not go into my contract season without a deal + coming off the bench in what will likely be a lesser role than last year. NYK already got his replacement!

I think if Ainge had any interest at all in Okoro he would've grabbed him instead of Agbaji in the Don deal. Smaller, 6'-4" defensive only guards don't have alot of value. I'd rather just use Dunn or THT in that spot since both can dribble the ball. To this point Hardy hasn't really used any guards who can't dribble or be playmakers which might be a reason Agbaji has been playing forward in the preseason. Okoro can't shoot either unless he's left wide open in the corner.

Okoro is in that really ****** spot where he is good, but not good enough for any team to give him what it takes to be worth it in RFA, so he will just end up getting super low-balled by Cleveland.

That's assuming a lot of stuff you have no idea of knowing.

I'm sure if Cleveland was willing offering Okoro, Ainge would have took him. He's a reluctant shooter, but he at least makes the ones he takes. There's still room for him to get better as a shooter. He's has the upside to be a better verison of Royce O'Neale and that can be a very valuable player.

If I was them I'd do like 8-10M a year or make him prove it. They gave money to Strus/Niang/Caris and all could take time from him. Also...saw Niang enter a game and not sure if it was the maroon or whatever but dude looked like he back on the Crumbl. Still played well but looked big... announcer commented on it too.

McDaniels deal is a really solid piece of business for Minny. They will move KAT in the next 12 months or so to balance the books.

If I'm IQ its 5/125M or you can go eff yourselves Knicks.

I also think Philly probably played their cards wrong with Maxey. Likely could have got him at less than the max and I think end of year someone maxes him out.

Maybe. I haven't watched him enough but looking at advanced stats he's given more space by defenders than just about any shooter in the league.

If Ainge wants that type of player I'd wait to see if Suggs eventually comes available. He's about the same size as Okoro, is also a good defender, and can actually dribble the ball. At some point the Magic need to make a decision on their backcourt. Suggs, Fultz, and Black are not going to fit there long term. Suggs isn't extension eligible until next year though.

If McDaniels repeats the exact same season I think he gets $25 a year with player option etc easy in RFA. A little bit of improvement could have really blown up his value so pretty safe deal for MIN. But I’m terrible at this stuff.

The only situation they’ve got to worry about is if his shooting was more of a flash in the pan.
