Lol I don't think he's going to retire over a stomach virus. I mean if he had Chron's and had to have half of his intestines cut out, maybe.. But you all are tripping about him "staying healthy" like he's twisted his ankles or broke bones.. smh.. redneck Jazz fans.
You're joking, right?
Fine. Semantics or not...the fact remains, the odds of getting players like Gobert or Hood in the 20s is very low. DL may have defied these odds in a small sample size (2 seasons) but in my opinion it would be irresponsible (and arrogant) to purposely trade down into the 20s based on the expectation that past successes can be easily duplicated. As a whole, the NBA draft is a roll of the dice anyway, I'd rather take the odds of getting a good player with a lottery pick over getting one with a late 1st round pick. That's all I'm saying...I probably should've said in the DL era, as that is what I meant. And pointing out that the Jazz traded for Gobert is really... I mean, c'mon.
Oh, a Hayward fanboy. No, I'm not.
So out of Hayward, Hood and Burks you think Hayward is the worst?
How the hell do you leave off Gobert? AK47, Gobert, Hood, Stevenson, Koufos are tremendous picks in the 20's. We can't count Dieng and Podkolzin, since they were immediately traded. Lopez would have been a player had he not been injured. So we missed on Padgett, Almond, and Maynor. That is a freaky good success record for drafting in the 20's.
Actually, he may be referring to a third contract Hayward at 22 million a season or so. Hayward is great, but it would certainly be nice to have options at his next shot at free agency. . .
