Rubio traded to Jazz

Pull your heads from your colons.

Rubio fits perfectly next to Hayward and Hill in Quin's pick and roll dominant system. There doesn't have to be any minutes lost for Hill or Rubio.

Hill can guard the 2. Check.
Jazz can play 4 play makers in Hill, Hayward, Rubio, Ingles/JJ/Diaw. Check
Bench is thicker. Check.
Exum gets more time to lose the acne. Check.
Jazz gained a trade chip and more flexibility. Check.
Signing Hill would create plenty of future trade opportunities with the luxury of Hill/Neto/Exum. Check.

A draft pick protected in the top 14 that may never come to fruition for Rubio is nothing short of a steal.

Check.
 
Rubio getting a coach who's actually good offensively might help a bit.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I prefer Rubio to Hil, and I said that months ago. I have real faith in hm,

Let's not start with the overreactions. Word around the league is that OKC isn't going to risk losing Westbrook for nothing, and will trade him without an extension.

This move could just be DL trying to get some value for that pick in case it turns to trash.

Opposite. It significantly lowers it. It now makes sense why the reports of Teo to the Bulls were happening. Jazz probably informed him they were either getting Rubio or Hill and not to wait for them.

And trading a non lottery pick next year for a good productive player makes us a worse option for Hayward? Alright.

No one try to argue that we just got worse. Hill was not currently part of the roster. So he either wasn't coming anyway or wanted an insane contract.

OR

He was willing to come back for a good deal and Hayward also agreed to come back if Hill did. And Lindsey said "nah **** that we want Rubio more" bye Hayward.

You tell me what's more likely.

Like I said earlier today, I can see a reality where the Jazz are better with Rubio over Hill, I just don't think it's likely.

This feels like the last T'Wolves trade for Al Jefferson. Talented player, but bringing him (a square peg) into a round hole. The fit feels wonky unless the Jazz change how they play or that Rubio 2nd half shooting is now the norm.

What's your point? If they trade westbrook and go into a rebuild, it turns into 2 2nd rounders in 3 years.
