Summer League Finale: Jazz vs. Sixers, 7/9, 8:00 AM MT

Craig just had a rookiegasm. Evans is literally flying out there, dunking the ball while getting fouled, slamming home alley-oops, blocking and contesting shots, slamming balls off the backboard to ensure they get picked up by a Jazz player. Then they launch it down to Hayward for a corner three. Swish. Thanks for reading.

jazz looking great. I think Evans certainly has improved. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the team. Hayward solid again. Kid is shooting lights out when he shoots. I am also sick of Gaines. Wow he just passed the ball Evans scored. I am really likeing Evans. I would also bring in Augie, Benson and Davidson to camp and let the best man make the team.

Ooh--Honzward drives, gets fouled by Evan Turner and then gets tackled on the drive by Vernon Goodrich at 8:46 in the 3Q. What? No FTs?

NBA.com hacks interviewing Austin Ainge, former BYU player and nepotism-facilitated coach of the Celtics D-League AND summer league team.

Austin brought in Jaycee Carroll; clams that JC can run a near-four-minute mile.

Ooh--Hayward drives again; gets ball stripped. Refs don't bail him out this time. Like KK, he isn't an effective driver. Yet.

Augustine and Evans take turns traveling. I wish that Augustine had more strength/athleticism. Do these players hit the weight room?

At 6:12, Evans picks up a ball that breaks up a Philly fast break.

At 5:50, Gaines still hogs the ball, but at least he makes the shot.

At 4:50, Hayward misses a trey, but it's a good look.

At 4:25 Hayward drives and draws the foul. Nice work. He's 26-28 from the FT line so far in the summer league. That's awesome.
Morning fatigue might be setting in for both teams.

Evans draws a nice charge. Maybe I owe KOC an apology too. Evans might be a good backup. Anyone who scores a bit AND defends has my fan support.

At 3:38, Hayward drives more effectively but shoots less so; 24-second clock was running out.

56-26 Utah with 2:55 left; Jeremy Evans hustles to putback his own miss (also an Ok shot). Philly has made only 2 point in the third quarter.

Hayward leads all scorers with 14; Evans not far behind with 12, leading all scorers and doubling Turner's points.

Just as it should be.

Gardner has got a nice outside shot. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a pre-season invite, especially if Korver leaves.
