Trade idea for Horford

Yeah why would we want a legit stretch 4 who is shooting 38.8% from 3 on 4.0 attempts per game AND could be a legit backup to Gobert at the 5 AND plays defense.
He is poor rebounder for his size, aging, massively overpaid for what he will be producing in 2-3 years and lately is really allergic to the paint. He was pretty much invisible in first game vs us and while he did way better in second game I have seen those games where he is just disappearing way too often.

I’d do that in a second.

I think Neto playing Mudiay’s minutes would solve a ton of our issues tbh.
This. I honestly do not understand why they gave up on Neto. Injury? He's played more than exum. Size? He's no smaller than Conley, and imo he uses his size better. No idea what happened there. They gave up a reasonably decent backup for a question mark.

This was one of the worst, and most pointless, moves of the offseason.

My understanding was Neto's deal had to go in order to get Bogey, so it had better be that. Maybe they cut him and offered him the minimum/NWG's salary number but Neto passed on that?

In any case, I haven't the slightest idea why NWG is here.

I don't see why the Sixers would do it. Simmons is their point guard and has to have the ball in his hands to be effective. Conley's too small to play shooting guard and they're not going to pay him $30 million to come off the bench. Not to mention Horford is playing well and is shooting much better than Conley, so the idea that they would do it to add shooting makes no sense, they'd actually be losing shooting.

Come off the bench?

They would start Conley, Rich, Simmons, Harris and Embiid.

Yeah, that ended up not being true because we ended up with extra cap space for giving Oni more than the minimum.

Lol, I loved Neto but what the heck does he bring that Mudiay doesn't? You guys really think Raul Neto is going to be the difference with Ingles, Jeff Green, Niang, and Ed Davis? I really think you guys just need someone to pick on.

He's immensely better at playing the team-sport of basketball. While that bench is weak, Joe being left to twiddle his thumbs off the ball is inexcusable.
I don't see it and stats prove otherwise.
Neto stats
12.8 mpg, 46% fg, 33% from 3, .9 fta, 2.5 assist, .9 turnovers, 5.3 pts

Mudiay
15.3 mpg, 48% fg, 26% from 3, 1.2 fta, 2.2 assist, 1.5 turnovers, 7.2 pts

He's better than Mudiay at everything except scoring in isolation. Better shooter, passer, defender, higher basketball IQ, better feel for the game, MUCH better fit in Quins system.

Mudiay will go multiple possessions a game where he doesn't pass the ball one time. He also is worthless off the ball so by that virtue alone, he has the ball in his hands. His shot selection is also absolute garbage.

I strongly disagree. What do you think he brings to the table with this second unit? What specialty really moves the needle one bit passing to Jeff Green and Niang? Mudiay right now is our ONLY option off the bench to score. You guys really think Neto somehow magically gets Niang to suddenly be better? Jeff Green? These guys are waaaay more of a problem than Mudiay.

If you think those simple stats prove anything contrary to what Numberica is claiming, then holy ****, man.
I'm all ears man. You are plenty capable of expressing your opinion. I'll ask you what I just asked. How does Neto make Niang and Jeff Green better?

I actually think Jeff Green and Ingles would be better, yes. Green and Ingles are both players that need to find their rhythm, and I'm not sure how they're supposed to when the ball is sticking in the hands of a guy that has one shot and he looks for it every possession.

Nobody makes Niang better. Ed Davis needs all the help he can get to offensively contribute.

I would absolutely take a Niang 3 or even Jeff Green 3 over a Mudiay mid range jumper.
