To answer your question. Yes. Woman are killed for less than adultery in Latin America. And yes, the men involved oftentimes go unpunished. A strong macho culture and impunity permeates society. The worsening of the problem led to massive demostrations in several countries, called "Ni una Mas". I'm surprised you don't know about this problem in Latin America.
Yes, women have been oppressed in most cultures throughout history -- I say most because there have been some matrilineal societies as in some American Indian tribes. But I would say it has been much worse in Arab cultures -- for God's sake, women have had to wear veils and could only go out in public with male family members. You know any other places where that has been the case? When the families of men whose wives commit adultery murder her and think that's just? Heck, women only have been able to drive in Saudi Arabia in the last few years. Did you watch that 60 Minutes Report? And no I have not followed those situations in South America, and am not well informed about it, though I know of U.S. oppression of nations there going back centuries and more recently by our CIA. We've literally destroyed the economies of countries there that have tried to turn to socialism.

I haven't been particularly nice to EM and I've had to block him to save myself from responding to him and hurting his feelings.

I peeked at a little of this drama but I will not respond directly to EM.

I can only advise the people responding to EM that short of formal psychiatric intervention there is no reason engage that poster.

They are not participating in "reality" in any meaningful way.

Thanks for the heads up. When I somewhow see the CIA in an argument about gender violence, I think it's time to stop.

I really don't know how you can shift a comment about a trade into gender violence. You are the ones talking about gender violence not me, and as I said men get raped too. And not only that you are inaccurate in your depiction of traditional Arab culture.

5 Countries that respond to rape by putting the victims in prison

I won't send you a PM because I am no longer communicating with anyone that way. And I am not in need of psychiatric help for telling the truth. I should add that I didn't start this drama.

So Maneesh, err Numberica, who lives in a misogynistic country like Bangladesh, or I thought it was Turkey, where all those nations in that region are misogynistic, where in some they don't even punish men who rape women, agrees with UJF. I suspect some gender bias. I think I will create an ALT with the name of Siddartha.

Uhh. You compared a trade to rape, I said that’s bad, and then you fought everyone about how that’s not bad.

The starting point and the common denominator is you. You are the entirety of the drama.

The good news is I learned about some stuff from some other posters.
