Trade ideas

I think the best trade pieces that jazz have is

Clarkson and he is worth at least a first.

Olynyk - but I am not postive of his value. He would be a great vet bench piece in the playoffs. Maybe a younger player and some seconds or a first and dump a bad contract. (Not a fan of that)

Collins - could get a FRP to the right team. His contract is bad so.maybe not. Might be worth hanging on to him a while longer.

Sexton could get something for a team looking for some pop off the bench but I like him as player. If Clarkson is moved I could live with Sexton more.

Clarkson is worth *at best* a first, likely not even a first.

Olynyk could probably get you a 2nd rounder or two.

I'd be surprised if Collins got you a first rounder unless you are taking back a bad long-term contract.

Sexton will get you a 2nd rounder and equal value contract back at best.

The tough part right now is that I think our guys are actually much better players than they have shown. Everyone has regressed under Hardy so far this year so we might as well keep any younger guys to see if we can rebuild value. I would look to move Clarkson the second we can. I think his selfish brand of basketball sets a bad example for a young team. He is a good fit for a more experienced playoff team that needs his exact skillset.

Was shocked to see that in 40% of Clarksons games this season he’s turned it over 5 times or more

This could provide us with the exact opportunity to buy low. You know mailman wasn't exactly a role model off court either......
Yeah, no thanks. You don't get forgiven for stuff like that these days. No team wants an endless distraction.

Not to mention that Giddey is a pretty flawed player. I see him in China next.

Well said

A lot of talk here (and in some of our other threads) about how to built our team and whether to keep Lauri. I’m definitely in the camp that wants to keep him. My reason for this is simply that this way we’ll have a chance to become a contender much sooner. I'm not a fan of waiting in our situation because trading Lauri and building through the draft and youth doesn't guarantee a better result.

Avdija is secretly having a career year. Currently averaging 12/5.5/3.5 on 50/40/80 shooting split. Not too often can you find a 6’9 guy who can handle the ball like a guard, exact reason he was picked ahead of folks like Haliburton. The upside is obvious.

Washington is a dumpster fire and their coaching is clearly the worst in the league by a fine margin(absolute criminal to not play Avdija 30+min a game). Avdija just also happens to be in the last year of his contract and should be very gettable. A Twolves first should be able to get it done. Would love to watch him and Lauri operating the pick and roll.

they just extended him....

Always hilarious when a bad team has a good young player and posters are like "We should go them, it will be easy"

Excuse me? Bad young teams want young players, not to give them away.
