Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you

I have been very unhappy with the Trump Presidency, but this saddens me more than anything else he's done.

There are about 15,000 transgender people currently serving. I suppose this means he is going to kick them all out. They deserve better than that. They deserve a better commander-in-chief than Trump.
 
Reportedly; the Military spends 5 times as much on Viagra as they do on Transgender healthcare.

Is there not some huge lawsuit potential there?
 
I just don't believe there are 15,000 trans in the military though. That estimate seems awfully high.

I'd assume it's closer to 1.500 and that you made a typo.

A google search says 1,429,995 active, and 1,137,916 enlisted, 2,567,911 total. Google also reports .3% of the US are Transgender, which is 7700, or just over half of babe's claim of 15,000.

But that's... that's a very, VERY rough estimate.

Yeah, but are transgender people the type of people who generally enlist? It just doesnt seem likely that the demographic ratios of trans in America is the same as in the military.

I don't know where the number came from or how valid it is but I am seeing estimates of 15k. Again, I have no idea where that number comes from.
