Utah Jazz vs Portland Trailblazers Tonight at 7pm MST 11/1/2017

Quin's teams are fun to watch. Very enjoyable. Even the bad games i dont turn off because they keep competing and often find ways to come back.

Thanks Quin.

To make it more clear, Mitchell got 5 points in OT tonight, which has tied Lyles' season total in points (5) haha.

The first five points of the OT which put the Jazz in the driver's seat. It was this more than Rubio's makes near the end of the OT that really turned the tide. The guy is fearless, the way MJ used to be.

Rubio is taking his game to another level.

He belongs in utah.

The hair, the flair, must be something magic in his underwear.

Superman!

I thought the first half was excruciatingly painful to watch, lol.

Made up for it in the 4th and OT though.

Rudy Gobert has put together back to back good games.

Portland - 16 points 10 rebounds 1 assist 3 blocks
Dallas - 17 points 12 rebounds 6 assists 6 blocks 2 steals

Plus a couple of big plays on offense to help tie the game followed by the signature block at the end to force overtime. Hopefully that’s the spark that gets him playing like he did last year. He needs to anchor the defense for this team to really compete AND take more of a scorers role for them to be playoff contenders.

Welcome back Rudy.

I like how Rubio takes in the crowd reaction after hitting a big shot at home

It must be fun playing in front of a crowd like Utah as opposed to playing in front of 9K folks in Minnesota that couldn't get tickets to the Vikings game.

Rudy if he keeps his FT% like it is, is a Hall of Fame lock

Serious.

Hood was zero of 11

19 minutes, zero points.

ouch.

We are going break the bank to keep him? Nope.

That is true, it can look ugly at times, and that first half was exceptionally ugly. But it keeps me entertained because I like watching the other teams implode, and expect the game to stay close down the stretch.

Donovan and Ricky are making me forget that George Hill and Hayward ever even existed.

who? who is this george hayward or mr hill you are tlaking about!

never heard of em. they must have been on the jazz before stockton and malone, because i know almost any jazz player since stock and malone

Twice last night I watched Alec Burks fake a three and drive to the basket--something we all were taught to do. But the Blazers defense adjusted, and the helper cut him off 9-10 feet away from the rim. Rather than finding the open guy who was abondoned by the helper, Burks forced up shots, which he missed.

He doesn't seem to grasp the modern NBA defense is designed to entice players into those low percentage shots thrown up wildly somewhere between the three point line and the rim.

For the season burks is shooting 3 for 13 on shots between 3 and 16 feet. That is 23-percent.

On the positive side, Burks is shooting 4-8 at the rim and 9-16 from beyond 16-ft including a remarkable 7 for 13 from 3 (that's 54%).

His rim numbers and three point shooting indicate he can be a very good role player in the modern nba.

Now if they can just get him to stop taking those awful midrange shots, and get him to play some defense.

Not sure where you are getting your shooting chart stats, but that ain't right.

Who was the last Jazz rookie to score 28 pts so early in his NBA career? I sure do not remember any....

Just checked, it took Karl Malone 39 games to score 29 pts. By 8 games his highest was 14 pts.
John Stockton season high was 19 pts as a rookie
Deron Williams scored 28 in game nr.63
Jeff Hornacek as a rookie never scored more than 14pts.
Carlos Boozer scored 27 pts in his game nr. 66
Gordon Hayward scored 34 pts in game nr. 72.

That is bunch of All Stars we looking at and Mitchell beat them all so quick. Not sure if it means anything but man we do have a potential All star on our hands

How many rookies are allowed to shoot 21 shots? Just curious.

But it is what it is.

He does have a beast mentality and a scorers mentality.
