Would you trade Gobert for #1 Draft Pick?

Rudy has no legs at the moment. I hope he doesn't play in the Olympics and gets some decent rest and conditioning into his legs and trunk. He just isn't anywhere near as nimble and explosive vertically atm.

He is tired. It's crazy that he is pretty consistent still even though he is young and tired.

WTF I am tired of using he is "tired" excuses, he is 23-freaking-year-old and he is not the only guy who played summer ball. He just had a week off during all-star break and he came back "tired", serious?

The French team played together for a really long time in the offseason dips*** His knee won't be right until he gets a few months off

Oh sorry I didn't realize the above-normal level of playing Gobert did during offseason. I guess the prime Dirk, Manu, Pau or Yao Ming must have forgotten about needing to take "months" off to get legs right after playing for national teams for years.

Yep cause Dirk played for Germany sooooo much ..

I would trade him for the # 1 pick but that's not gonna happen by the way he is playing. He's been somewhat of a disappointment this season. It was supposed to be his break out season.

Do people not realize he's likely still on one leg? This has nothing to do with olympics or the summer. Hood played basketball all summer... Games 7 months ago really aren't affecting him. JEBUS PEOPLE!!!!!

ummm you don't think last year was ?? This season was always going to be a challenge for him as teams started to scout him & figure out ways to combat his style of play.

i wasn't trying to link the two. However hood just played pickup ball and then summer league ? I am concerned that big guys bearing a lot of weight need extended periods of minimizing the pounding of full intensity basketball games. Go check how many games the French national team actually played, even lead up games before Eurobasket. And then how much time off before training camp ? In any even he clearly isn't close to full fitness so anyone moronic enough to say they're willing to trade him is simply ridiculous

Honestly, our return for Gobert wouldn't be that great.

Might be better off trading Favors if we were to trade somebody. I prefer Favors, think he's a better player, but he would get us a good haul. Fav and Gobert just don't play well together offensively. Maybe Boston would trade us the the Brooklyn pick, Bradley and Johnson for Favors and Burks. Idk.

Ben Simmon's ceiling is Kevin Durant, and the league going toward versatile big who can switch, pass and guard on the perimeter. One dimensional bigs like Gobert who has virtually NO offensive game has rapidly depreciating value in the changing league
Yep. I'd trade Gobert for Simmons and move Favors to the 5. But before I'd do that, I'd trade Hayward for a player who can stretch the floor. In the starting 5 (and even when Exum returns), Utah has only ONE player who is a 3PT shooter. Hayward is at 36% but doesn't shoot them that much - and that's not that great a percentage. Teams can simply pack the paint. Defensively, Gobert and Favors form a great tandem, but Rudy is worthless on offense. If Rudy and Favors are to remain on the court together, Utah needs 3 other 3PT shooters.

100% agree. Teams didn't have time to scout last year, but now when you watch games you can see how incredibly congested the paint is, they know Gobert can't leave the paint when playing O, effectively taken the lane to drive out of the team offense and allowing our subpar 3-point shooters have at it. At times we deliver on the 3's but teams are willing to live with the odds with the current set of shooters we have.

Would Favors for Horford and a 1st make sense? We'd stretch the floor much better then. How is Al defensively?

Our biggest problems to me are:

Offense-mediocre ball movement, lack of a killer instinct guy
Defense-Exum, a healthy Gobert

I truly think we just need a real go to scorer.
Those guys are hard to come by though.
Maybe hood can eventually be that guy?

I'm really serious about the ball movement. Watch the Spurs and Dubs. Passes are ultra crisp and on target.

Not us. Not even close.

Maybe that's Murray who we can draft this year.

I don't know. Maybe missing the playoffs will be a good thing. It will get Gobert to work his *** off this summer on his offensive game after being fellated for about eight straight months last year. Sorry, I doubt he was this hungry machine like everyone made him out to be.

Maybe it will cause the rest of the core to make incremental improvements too.

And maybe Exum comes back like some scary 14-7-4-2 guy.
