In the West, OKC (32 wins), Phoenix (30 wins) and NO (30 wins) are all fighting for the 8th spots as well.


In conclusion: I think this means the worst we could finish in terms of the draft spot could be the 9th pick (unless a team jumps in and grab a top 3 pick).

This is what I thought would happen 4 weeks ago. Good to see it is a possibility now!!!

McGrady, Dirk, Stoudemire, Marion, Andre I., Hayward, Noah, Drummond... It will make you sad to look at the list of players drafted 12th. Historically #9 has been a great pick.

It sucks that a game or two mean so much, but it does. I support shutting Hayward down until he is absolutely in the clear. No need to risk him right now...

Yeah I mean this time next year I don't think we'll be looking back and say "Gee, I wished we could have won 2-3 more games at the end of last year, that experience would have been invaluable".

We might be when it means the 4th seed instead of the 5th.

But don't you think the difference in the talent level of a 9th pick vs a 12th pick would have more than made up for that?


Plus you get to keep that player for 7+ years, whereas the benefit of experiencing "2-3 more wins" isn't going to mean much beyond next year.

Also, losses can be more valuable than wins. Remember those 4 losses we had against the Spurs in the playoffs? Those 4 losses have made Utah a great team. I hate to think where we'd be right now without those 4 losses.
 
Jazz slide to 11th with this loss at Denver. Tied for 10th actually.

Jazz are in good position to finish top 10 in the lotto.
 
DL has stacked the deck for the draft.

3 over seas players
8 million in tradable team friendly contracts (Booker, Cotton, Cooley and Johnson)
Millsap, Burke and Ingles
5 1st round picks in the next 3 drafts
Roughly a half dozen 2nd rounders in the next 3 drafts.

Now the Jazz are pushing a top 10 pick pre lotto.

DL is gonna rock this with a trade for his man in the draft and sign a free agent steal.

2015-16 playoffs with the 6th seed.

Book it.

If CHA had won today we would have been tied for 9th which is where I predicted we would end up finishing last month.
