Shelvin Mack Option Picked Up

Does this take him out of the trade discussion? Or would they have to do this before trading him anyway?

They can trade him either way. Whoever trades for him will want him though, and not as a sign and cut to free cap-space.

I hope they trade him. I want the Jazz to rely on Neto.

Eh, Neto is D and Mack is O. We have enough of both and they are far enough down the depth chart to Mack it sixes to me.

Keep them both and make Mack 3rd SG over Johnson.

Neto is D and Mack is O? I don't understand.

I like Mack, would be nice to keep him on the roster. I'm not opposed to a package deal trade but we're probably giving up more than we want in that scenario.

Neto passes better the ball and has a better ball-handling skills. He is a pure point guard.

Some of you forget that he was a rookie last season and he exceeded the expectations.

Yet somehow Mack got a lot more assist in the same offense.

While I wasn't totally in love with Mack's game he did at least prove in Utah that he's higher on the depth chart than a 3rd string PG.

I doubt he'd be happy here on the end of the bench - I'm thinking The Jazz are not done making deals..

Yeah, but we dont know what's going to happen with Hill. We can't re-sign Hill, then Mack makes sense as long-term backup to Dante. If we do sign Hill, you let Mack go where he pleases and keep Neto as 3rd stringer.

Honestly it makes sense to keep him and Neto. Neto is too young to trade, he showed enough last year. Might be kind of salty for him to play for the Stars all of next year, but oh well. He is long term, Mack isn't. At the same time, Mack is better right now.
