What's new

Never Trump

I bought a Trump sandwich. It was full of balloney, covered in Russian dressing, an had a small pickle on the side. It came with a drink of Sprite an churro with a bad naftertaste.

This really put Trump's statements about assassination in perspective. I understand he has no shame when it comes to his own words and that he says whatever the hell he wants. I glossed over this in my thinking more than I should have.

Trump should be declared a traitor for the damage he is doing to the United States of America. Words matter.

Adding a few more insights to this is TYT--I know they're mainly liberal, but they still add more to Olbermann's piece above.

The tax thing should be receiving even more scrutiny that it is receiving. I want to know about his ties to Russian lenders. Trump's a liar, and he is purposely keeping the American people from his tax returns. This is really disturbing to me. This could shed direct light on why he even wants to be president. It sure as hell isn't to make America great. Trump has made no bones about how he feels about himself. Everything he owns has his name on it, including his son.

The New York Times obtained Trump's 1995 taxes. He reported a loss of just under $1 billion. And he may not have paid any taxes at all for the next 20 years:

Yet, he has no problem tweet-shaming others over taxes:

How petty of you. Every liberal candidate over the last 50 years has been guilty of exact this. Hillary is the queen of tax dodging. Can we keep thinks on an level players field?

"Petty" of me?!?! The media and public have been asking him to release tax returns for months. You think it's just me asking?? Lol. Keep it level?! Clinton released hers. Level is Trump releasing his. Have your morning coffee before posting such lame comments.

So your answer is no we can not keep any semblance of perspective. Trump shames tax dodgers an cheats on his. Liberals never ever ever do that cause the fish guy needs links an links .

The NY Times story indicated what he did was in fact legal. Can you please describe to me how he cheats on his taxes? I would love additional ammo against this ignoramus if you are willing to provide it.

If you want the perspective you speak of, then provide it. I'm not here to do your work for you. Please provide the evidence that every liberal candidate of the past 50 years has declined to pay federal income tax. That's a hellava claim you make. Please provide evidence that Hillary is the "Queen of tax dodging" as you describe it. You want perspective?? Fine. No problem. Provide it yourself. You asked for it. Find it and provide it in some form or another.

Trump's refusal to release his taxes has been a news story for months. I simply provided articles describing the latest development in that news story. Maybe we should just shut the thread down because it hurts your sensibilities??

Please continue backpeddling an changing you original attack on a politician tweet-shaming as you called it.

You really think somethink so well knowed about liberals needs me to research for myself? Stop being silly. Liberal politicians do pretty much nothing but tax shame while being guilty of using tax code for same advantages like any reasonable people would.

It is apparent that you are far from "reasonable." Just STFU about other people. It's the same old red herring B.S. and excuses that the adherents to the Trump cult use every time. Has or has Trump not released his tax returns? NO. Has every Republican nominee since 1980 released his tax returns? YES. Does the audit have anything at all to do with his unwillingness to release them? NO. Is Trump hiding something? YES! Is there a high likelihood that Trump will manipulate policy so that his businesses flourish, since he refuses to put his business into a blind trust or anything of that nature? YES. Are you giving any form of a moderately coherent argument? NO!

Watching a Trump rally, and listening to his stream of consciousness rants, and the crowd's response, it's not hard to see the personality cult aspect to his candidacy. I imagine every campaign has followers that are buying into a personality cult, but with Trump what surprises me is how such a degree of crudeness and ignorance and low brow boorishness could ever get this far as a personality people would gravitate to in the first place. A 4th rate intellect, if that, it's as if we're gonna put one of the Three Stooges in the Oval Office. But there will be no yuk, yuk, yuk under this stooge.

His delivery is so often like that of a wise guy punk, with the facial expressions that only add to that impression. The man is an ignoramus, like no other in my lifetime to run for the Presidency.

I guess if a mass democracy can make it possible for such a crude buffoon to actually pull it off, then maybe it will actually be better when AI imposes a dictatorship of robots. I don't think I'm joking. Listening to the crowd respond to Trump, it's the crowd, not Trump, that really concerns me. People really are that stupid. Pretty damn elitist of me, but really, people need to be protected from themselves if they think things are so bad it's OK to make Donald Trump President.

I think if he is elected, he'll make these rallies a staple of his term. Won't be able to live without them. Him and his followers. Maybe he really is just building a cult. If every candidate for President has followers that can easily fall into the role of personality cult members, maybe Trump is actually creating a personality cult Presidency. More cult leader then elected official. More infallible leader then one of the people. Chief Peacock, not Chief Executive.
He really does seem to take every little slight personally, doesn't he? We could be seeing a pretty sick puppy get elected President here methinks. I hope it happens in an alternate universe.

Some snippets from the demented mind of Donald Trump:

Trumpism as personality cult. There's something here for the Never Hillary crowd as well:

And finally, one small business owner's experience with Trump. I imagine it's typical:

I think you're right about his using this format to solidify his power if he is elected. Can you imagine Trump trying to read a speech that inspires the people of the U.S., let alone the world. He lives for the stage of negative emotions and hate. I actually started thinking that we may have 8 years of this piece of filth. Think about the following quote by Churchill. Could Trump ever deliver anything like this, or could the American people ever take it to heart when it comes to demagogues?

When the situation was manageable it was neglected, and now that it is thoroughly out of hand we apply too late the remedies which then might have effected a cure. There is nothing new in the story. It is as old as the sibylline books. It falls into that long, dismal catalogue of the fruitlessness of experience and the confirmed unteachability of mankind. Want of foresight, unwillingness to act when action would be simple and effective, lack of clear thinking, confusion of counsel until the emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong–these are the features which constitute the endless repetition of history.”
