Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

I have never seen a center as effective as Rudy played for the Jazz before. He already is there. Just needs to widen the scale a few seasons more.

Rudy is just phenomenal. Best C in the NBA and a borderline Top-10 player, IMO. He's an offensive star now it's incredible.

After this game tonight,we need a new countdown thread : "Rudy Gobert, Greatest Center of all Time"

Seriously though, if there was a chart that shows talent/performance index of players historically, I'm sure Gobert would play to the tops.

It's just the beginning guys. Rudy will be the greatest nba center for the next years. If he keeps growning in offense and win finals... yes he will be an hall of famer.

The thing that endears me to Rudy so much is the difference between this year and last year when it comes to catching the ball in the low post. Last year he was butterfingers. This year, he's almond joy!

35 points in a game, how many of us would have imagined that? Mark Eaton's career high was 20 and that was while playing with John Stockton

Imagine Rudy on the jazz nba finals teams...oh that would have been sweet

By the RPM metric, Rudy is now 6th best player in the NBA (above Curry, Harden, Leonard, Westbrook, and Davis). Now I need to see this for 2 straight years before I'll say he's the 6th best player, but its encouraging!

Never. I definitely did not. This adds to the concept of being patient with players. Patience has always been key...especially for fans that want to have peace of mind.

I also want to say that I knew Rudy was going to be better than average because he's kind of an ******* on the court. He plays with a huge chip on his shoulder and most better than average players have that attitude.

I love Rudy. His defense obviously, his attitude, and lately his offense, plus his ability to lead. Absolutely love the guy. Hope he retires a Jazz man.

During the last game, Rudy passed 1000 points for one season for the first time in his career. He needed 4 NBA seasons to do it. Derrick Favors needed 5.

Gobert can turn even the most errant lob into a rim-rattling dunk, but it wasn’t always like that. He worked tirelessly with Jensen to solidify his hands so that he could become a force down low. “The two things he doesn’t have in his game are shooting from the outside and playing [with his] back to the basket, as far as post-ups and post-up moves and being consistent in that regard,” fellow Jazz Frenchman Boris Diaw says. The Jazz front office and coaching staff’s goal is to turn Gobert into the type of player who consistently commands double-teams to free up room for perimeter shooters like Johnson and Hayward. – via Bleacher Report 4/26/17

Can you even imagine what he'd be like with a consistent shot and a postup game? The guy works tirelessly to improve his deficiencies. It won't surprise me in the least bit if he continues to improve offensively. He's already great at screens, pick and roll, putting down lobs passing out of double-teams and getting offensive rebounds and put backs. His hands have improved DRAMATICALLY in just one year. Sky is the limit.

He had 5 steals last night. If he could add steals to his defensive game...
