What's new

Remember the Alamo Dome - Jazz @ Spurs 3/23/2018 6:30 pm MST

There's no set number, but as a player, you should know who's hot and it's not always you.

Still, can't deny Donovan can be incredibly clutch when we need him to be.
Based on that metric, Donovan wouldn’t be the guy taking those three shots to force overtime in the first place. To get the good, you’ve got to live with the bad - Quin is giving him a perfect amount of freedom to create and shoot. His gravity as a rookie is amazing.

Win or lose, these are the types of games Donovan needs to have. At some point in the playoffs, you often have to have the best guy on the court to win and advance. He needs to know that more times than not, HE IS THAT GUY.

Last night, the Jazz almost pulled off a miracle comeback because of it. If LMA hadn’t had a career game, Donovan is ALL that anyone would be talking about this morning. Once he starts hitting threes at the level he was during the win streak, he’ll be unstoppable.

During the win streak, he was at .400 on 6.7 attempts, and since then he’s down to .285 on 8.7 attempts with increased attention from defenses. Some of that is his percentages coming back to earth, and some of it is inexperience and shot selection. He gets that touch back. . . and look the eff out.

No excuse - they got offensive boards and Patty Mills / LMA hit tough shots all night long - especially in clutch situations. It happens.

How about three clutch 3’s and three steals in the last 5 minutes of the game to force overtime? Jazzfanz is ****ing dumb. No wonder Hayward wanted out. Thankfully, most fans realize that Donovan and Rudy are both far more good than bad and will lead this team to the playoffs - against all odds against them.

I hope so. I hope the TEAM gets it.

It’s hard to know if some of you are trolls or just really ****ing stupid at basketball. Thankfully, the ignore function has greatly improved my Jazzfanz experience.

I’m assuming by TEAM, you’re also referring to Snyder, Rudy, Jingles and Rubio - who have all told him tokerp shooting and usually get the ball into his hands in clutch situations. More often than not, he comes through. That’s so rare to have that it blows my mind that anyone thinks Donovan is the problem right now.

Mate this was the first time he hasn’t. So much better than last game, he was really good
I honestly feel just fine about how Dante has played. Reintegrating an injured player at this point and getting his leds under him and the rust off is NOT easy. He’s been given a solid role and is holding up fine in limited minutes. Doesn’t hurt the team when he’s out there. That’s something at this point in the year. It’ll get better from here. I expect him to be a plus player for the playoffs.,

We are not winning a title this year. Let DM do his thing, watch tape and learn.

I guarantee the 4Q performance is going to give him future confidence no amount of tape watching will.

A summer with the staff, he’s gonna be scary next year.

In the meantime chill out and enjoy this rookie experience. I guarantee if everyone knew on draft night Hefner be averaging 20 ppt this year they would have been partying.

We all see how good DM has potential to be, but man... some of you clowns expect him to act like a 5 year vet his rookie year. Obsessive compulsive perfectionist. I’m just enjoying this ride... entertained every game, love the fight, can’t ask for more!

Nah. Dante stayed in front, he just made 2 tough shots over him. He turned him away once ir twice also.
Dante has great speed and recovery. He doesn't have great instincts. He gets beat off the first step and off balance, yet still is able to recover and get back in front of his guy. If he develops the defensive instincts as he plays, then he can be a great defender. As is, he is just decent-pretty good.

LOL. The second and third best players in the NBA aren't alpha's?

KD is the ultimate lap dog. Couldn't handle himself around a true alpha in Westbrook. Klay is the 3rd guy... what "alpha" has ever been the 3rd guy?? They dont roll like that.

Steph... its tricky. I dont consider him an alpha though just uber talented.

KD gave up 3-1 lead
Steph gave up 3-1 lead

Nothing they do screams alpha to me.

He has had great moments in every game(only 4 so far, right?) but let's not act like he's nearly where he'll be later... definitely deer in the headlights at times in the fourth quarter.

Part of it was conditioning and part of it is just getting used to playing with these guys at this level after missing the whole season.

KD was always a better player than Westbrook, as good as Westbrook is(4th best player in NBA over the last 5 years behind KD and Curry). Alpha isn't the guy who puts up the most shots or handles the ball the most. The best players are always the alpha's. That's why GS has four alpha's.

Of course Westbrook is an alpha. So is Donovan. And Harden. And a lot of other guys.
