What's new

Jabari Parker could be had fairly cheap

If we add Jabari, its because we tell him he can earn the starting PF spot. If we keep Favors, its because we tell him he is the starting PF for the foreseeable future.

You can't tell both stories.

Sure you can. Tell them both they now have competition.

Would Jabari sign a short term deal with the jazz (1 year) with hopes of boosting his stock and securing a longer deal worth more next summer?

Everyone (but maybe Jerebko if his roster spot is needed for Parker)

I applaud your greed, can DL pull it off? suppose we wait and see. maybe Parker takes all of Jonas' minutes and minutes from Joe, how much better does this make us? I dunno

I'm actually disappointed. I'm not included in "everyone"?? ********. Pretty sure I'm a person.

I'd sign for like 200k too. Your ****ing loss Ineptimusprime!

200k? Fish told me you could be had for a 6 pack and a bucket of chips.

How do you get the cap space to do that? I guarantee Milwaukee matches at the MLE. And I doubt Jabari accepts that. And why do you want to clear your roster of depth just to help Jabari boost his stock and leave after the season? Makes zero sense.

Utah is at $140m right now in salaries and cap holds. Now that includes their exceptions at $12m, Exum at $15m and Favors at $18m. Renounce all of those, Jerebko and Udoh and the Jazz are down to $82m with 10 players. I haven't heard anything about Thabo. His $5M is included. Minimum roster spots add $800K each. The only way to keep Favors or Exum + add Parker on a bargain contract (which Milwaukee could still match) would be to dump Burks' salary. At this point, not many teams could absorb $12m without sending anything back. And it would almost certainly take a future 1st to do it.

As long as the Bucks have given him a QO, any deal has to be for at least two years, excluding options. If they give him the maximum QO, all deals offered to him must be for a minimum of three years, excluding options.

I'm seeing a 7.3m QO for Jabari, which has been offered.

That is only an option if he chooses to take the QO. As long as the Bucks have offered him his QO and made him a restricted free agent, any team offering him a contract has to sign him two a deal for at least two years for it to be legal under the CBA.

He'd be a great addition if it comes at a reasonable price. Duke and Mormon connections. Just too good to pass up.

Jabari's best option is to play for the QO, establish that he's healthy, and hit the market when there's money available.

The Jazz reportedly wanted to trade up to grab either Wiggins or Jabari in that Exum draft right?

Why would they not want him now? What's changed?

Not if the bury him on the bench again though... he needs to get out on a one year deal...

I hear Sacramento’s music playing...

If we wanted him I’d think a sign and trade with Favs is completely doable... I don’t think we have the risk tolerance for it.
