JAZZ vs. Bobcats - Orlando Pro Summer League - 1pm et 7/5/10

Nice, leaping rebound by Hayward. At about 45 seconds left in 2Q, he goes aggressively for an offensive rebound but gets called for the foul. Respectable effort.

James Augustine doing OK; not really better than Koufos. Not any promise down low IMO.

Augustine has some offensive ability and his body looks good. He also has some good foot speed. He needs to show better defensive box outs and help d.

Hayward looked a lot better in the second quarter. Waters looked way better than Rice. But Gaines is still better than either. Jeffers has played poorly especially on D. Gerald Henderson has been schooling him. Koufos can still rebound a little but he just doesn't seem to have enough quickness.

Evans has nice length and defensive range. But he is so skinny. And he doesn't have offensive SF skills. He at least a year away and probably 2 or more.

The biggest issue I've seen from Hayward so far is he doesn't feel comfortable in the offense yet. That will come with time. He has some nice plays so far.

Hayward starts off the 2nd half with helping Koufos break up a pass inside. ON next play, Hayward takes the ball for a fast break and dishes to Gaines for a drawn foul.

At 9:00 left, Jeffers with a fall-down 5-footer.

Augustine gets a jumper to drop at the 8-minute mark.

S. Collins is tearing it up--partly because he's not being guarded. Needs to lose weight to make the league.

Jeffers responds by taking the ball strong to the hoop for an easy dunk.

Augustine makes a basket at about 7:00.

Gaines comes down, shoots a long miss without even trying to set up offense. << Puke. >>

Hayward still quietly breaks up an offensive play. Utah recovers. Then, at 5:20, Hayward prevents an in-key shot --> jump ball.

Performance from Hayward, Augustine and maybe Gaines & Jeffers: net positive. Performance from Koufos: net blah.

Hayward with a couple of good Defensive plays the last 2 times down the court. Getting into the passing lanes and jumping for rebounds. He is staying in front of people pretty well so far.

OMG--Koufos clanks a FT. Makes the second.

Koufos moves his feet on D on the next play like I've never seen Boozer or Okur do. Jeffers flops and causes a favorable turnover.

Brown slips on and misses a fast break (lol). Blames it on the ball boy for maybe not wiping the court. Whether the court was wet is not clear.

At 3:00, Koufos bumbles the ball inside, causes a negative turnover.

Hayward looks almost afraid to shoot the ball. Had a open look and put it on the ground, passed it on a 2 on 1 FB. I really wanted to see if this guy can be a player for us and 1 for 1 from the field is not showing me much
