NFL Talk

Tom Brady would look like Rex Grossman if he played on the Rams. That team sucks. No O-line and that offensive structure is pathetic. What exactly are they trying to be?

I feel sorry for Bradford.

Loaded at all the skill positions? Do you watch football? Their receivers are mediocre at best. Speed does not equate into awesomeness. And who in the hell are their tight ends?

According to Yahoo sports, the Raiders have 3 wide receivers ranked in the top 50. Hayward-Bey, Moore, and Ford. I hardly call that mediocre at best. And since when are tight ends considered skill position players?

Like Archie said...everyone else here has pretty much the same view on this trade but you. Maybe you're the one that should watch some football before you run your mouth.

Rams released Sims-Walker so I suppose we all can agree he isn't good.

The Raider's receivers will look a lot better with Palmer, and Palmer will look better on the Raiders. Still, too much to give up for him unless he takes them to the SB. It's a bad trade until that happens.

Only the Browns could knock out an opponent's QB, still lose and send 2 high picks to a division rival within 24 hours. Sheesh.

You're kidding, right? This post is rife with stupidity.

Probably so. It's not bad to take a chance on Carson, but the price was WAY too high. Third-rounder at best and that should have been conditional.

I have two friends who are Raider fans and they both LOVE this deal.

I think they have sucked for so long they don't mind sacrificing picks for an immediate upgrade.

Cincy has been better than Pitts already this year. That team is a lot better than I thought they were going to be. Pissburgh is going to have a rough year behind that line.

Pittsburgh - 4-2
Bungles - 4-2

They haven't played head to head.. how are they better? Are you counting in division so they have an edge?

Regarding the line troubles.. any logical Steelers fan was worried about it before the season started so what has changed? I was worried about it last year as well... look where that lead.

The Steelers success on offense is all about running the ball. Kemo and Gilbert are back and healthy this week but we lost another lineman to a toe injury for a few weeks.

Be afraid there Bungles fan.. be afraid. If you are thinking you are even close to the Steelers then you need to step back away from the drugs.

This is an interesting perspective from the guy who drives the Alex-Smith-is-a-bust train.

The points differential is +26 vs. +17 in favor of the 'gals. They beat the 9ers and Bills who have been killing it. Meanwhile your Steelers got their asses handed to them by Baltimore and just barely were able to pull out a win against the Colts. This season just doesn't look the same for them, last year's start really got them going. There is no way they let the Jags sniff a comeback last year.

BTW Cope if you were paying attention, at all, you would know I am not a Cincy fan. We have already talked about this. Have another cup of coffee.

Oh I thought I was talking to the Bungles fan but instead talking to the Stains fan.. even worse.

Again, we will see but it is 6 games in. Reminder... Green Bay started 3-3 last year...

Want to make a friendly bet on the Bungles vs. Steelers end of season record?

What do you mean?

Oh please, I think what you're trying to do. don't even start with that nonsense. I, like most on this board, gave Alex a good 4 years before the bust stuff started. I think we all knew the niners were horrible. But even with pieces around him, Alex Smith doesn't look very good.

Give Bradford another year or two. Give him some more pieces. Then, we'll see what type of player he truly is.

Until then, stop taking cheap shots.

Cheap shots? Sorry. I didn't intend to hurt your feelings. I must have misinterpreted your constant harping on the subject for several seasons, and your apparent desire to remove him from football, bind him, and burn him at the stake, in front of the entire village, as an example.

My bad.

You need to give Harbaugh a call. You must see something he doesn't. I'm sure he could use your insight.

That all may be true, but the Steelers made the Superbowl last year and have most of the people from that team on this years team. Yes, they are old farts, but I would still take them in a playoff game vs. the Bengals.

Huh?

Have you seen his stats? Those who want to talk Alex up haven't seen his stats.

The resurrgence or Frank Gore combined with that dominate defense and better O-line and a competent HC is what's turning the niners around. It isn't Alex.

I waited more than just two years to name Alex a bust. Give Bradford the same standard you're holding Alex. Give Bradford a good 4-5 years before calling him a bust (which is what I and most on this board did).

Speaking of hurt feelings, you're the one that brought up Alex Smith when talking about Bradford. Seems like you're the one with hurt feelings. Bitter much?

Yes, I have. I don't, however, recall making any declarations about Alex, one way or the other.

There, I fixed that for you. For the record, I agree completely that the defense and improved play of the O line are largely responsible for the Niner's fortunes as of late. Your assessment of Alex's contribution is, well... your assessment. And it is exactly what I would expect from you.

I waited more than just two years to name Alex a bust. Give Bradford the same standard you're holding Alex.

Just as I have never declared Alex a success, I have not declared Bradford a bust. You are inventing an argument and projecting it on me. I just thought it was funny (not HA HA funny, but ironic funny) that you are so willing to cut Sam slack for his environment, when you were completely unwilling to do so for Alex. That's okay, we all have our biases.

No, in fact I've been pleased with Alex's progress. Look, I am in agreement that he has not panned out as a #1 overall pick should. I conceded that point long ago. And perhaps that's where you see him as a bust. I look at it a little differently. I don't believe Alex has hit his ceiling. With Harbaugh on board, I believe he still has a lot of upside. It's a shame that we had to wait 6 seasons and still have to say "time will tell", but I hardly believe that Alex can be singled out for that.

And again, I never commented on Bradford. I agree with you that he cannot be held responsible for being thrust into a **** situation.

Alex Smith is winning games for the Niners.. he is managing the game and NOT turning the ball over. Any BYU fan or Utah fan should know what turnovers lead to. Doesn't matter if you have the best QB in the league if you turn the ball over.
