Quickley + Toppin is not better than Herro and if you take Fournier what’s the difference on him vs Robinson. You literally just proposed a worse package.
Just saw Fournier has a team option on year 4 of his contract so it is better.

It’s better because of the picks… when was the last time a team as ****** as the Knicks gave up 4 unprotected picks and swaps…Quickley + Toppin is not better than Herro and if you take Fournier what’s the difference on him vs Robinson. You literally just proposed a worse package.
I’d take those two for sure over Herro, difference in opinion. I can see why you like Herro, but I’m a believer in those two.
The difference in Fournier and Robinson is their contracts. It’s not debatable that Fournier is more preferable to have.
And the picks are definitely better. If you’re going to make a bet against a franchise, a bet against the Knicks is way better than a bet against the Heat.
I only mentioned like half of what the Knicks have to offer. If you don’t think this is more than what the Heat are giving up, you can find a trade that’s more than what the Heat are giving up. Like I said, means and motivation. I think the Knicks have both.
Which of their own picks are they giving up?
Are you telling me captain loyalty might have actually asked to go? We did seem to be shopping him from the very beginning this offseason. If Mitchell did not ask out, who did?

Same picks. But again, they have way more than MIA. Whatever you find is “even” the Knicks are able to do that. I think they will because they can and they value Don more.
They won't give up that many unprotected picks... they will give one or two and then give the others they own maybe. Donovan is one of their "guys" but they will have limits to how far they go for Don now that they have Brunson.Same picks. But again, they have way more than MIA. Did you actually read that... because it is clearly about the team pushing back on Donovan guiding the franchise. Are you telling me captain loyalty might have actually asked to go? We did seem to be shopping him from the very beginning this offseason.

I think the Knicks are by far the best option.
- Historically better picks than Miami
- Multiple young player options (Barrett, Toppin, Reddish, Quickley)
- Fournier has a better deal and is easier to trade than Duncan

He may have also just seen the writing on the wall. It is no secret they did not get along, and it is also no surprise to a player like Gobert that they are going to stick with the guy with star power, who is younger, who hangs out with the big guns in the off-season, making sure he is seen in the right pictures and on the right instagrams, over the guy that just wants to play and win and calls it like he sees it, even if it is rough around the edges and rubs people the wrong way. So with that he may have been very receptive when the FO approached his camp about being traded, and yes maybe he even brought it up in the first place, since he probably saw something coming anyway. Might as well get ahead of it and spin it for the positive as much as possible, which he has done very well so far imo. I have been in that situation at work during a layoff. I loved the company, would likely still be there today as I think they are still a great company, but when the layoffs came I knew I was getting the boot over the guy that had been there for a dozen years and had built up all the relationships I had not in my 3 years there. Doesn't mean I was less loyal, I just understood where it was all going and took it like a man.Are you telling me captain loyalty might have actually asked to go? I don’t think myself or HH think the Knicks package is worse if it’s the same picks and Barrett.
If you told me it’s the same picks as Miami but they’re not including Barrett… the Miami deal is better. If you’re not sending Barrett you need to send more picks (likely all of your picks).
Haha….I’m pretty sure I know how HH feels about Barrett. Everyone can like whoever they like as a player, but it’s all the same at the end of the day. The Knicks 100% have the means to beat the MIA offer….I’d be shocked if they don’t have the desire.
The Knicks not wanting Don more than the Heat do is just not something I believe. I’ll believe it if the MIA deal gets done, but until then I can’t really be convinced. If you tell the Knicks Don is gone to MIA tomorrow, they get back to you with an offer that beats MIA.
The article wasn’t about Gobert it was about Ainge pushing back on Donovan’s control within the franchise.

Aren't there other reports that Don clearly has not asked out? Why does this report trump all others?Did you actually read that... because it is clearly about the team pushing back on Donovan guiding the franchise.
I was responding to this comment, not to the article.:
The snarky "captain loyalty" is a reference to Gobert. I was responding to that aspect of the comment.
