2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Bilal's measurements were good. I didn't expect him to be that long. I thought it would be 7' even. I also thought he might have some crazy low weight like 180.

This is from Jake Fischer. Would anyone trade up from 16 to 12 by getting rid of protections on the 2024 first we owe OKC?
So we trade 16 and protections next year for 12? I would do that. I think we lose that pick next season anyways so its basically 16 for 12.

This. Unless we spend money in free agency we are most likely missing the playoffs. And I could easily see this being the jazz goal.
Lol. I guess you missed last season. The jazz suck at losing even when trying hard like last season. I dont think they try to lose next season.

Jazz were 6-14 over their final 20 games this year (.300). Now imagine that we're starting the season without Clarkson and potentially without THT.
You mean we might start the season without two guys that we wont miss? oh no. Look at the lineups we played during those final 20 games. Dudes were playing that wont sniff any minutes for the jazz this coming season. Dok, juzang, samanic, damian jones (who I actually like), simone. And as you point out, we were 6-14 with all those scrubs being part of the rotation. Luari missed games he could have played in. Walker missed some. Sexton missed a ton he could have played in. And we still went 6-14. One more win and we are a .500 team and in the play in game with that scrub *** tank hard as **** roster.

As all of this current Jazz guards talk goes, it’s worth mentioning that the only PG this team has is a 30 year old reclamation project on an expiring deal. THT might not even play here next year. Sexton isn’t really a PG (I like him and I wish he was but at a certain point you actually have to get assists).

The reality is that we need long term point guards in the pipe. This is especially true because a focus should be turning Lauri into the most effective weapon possible and he benefits a lot from people setting him up.

We almost fell into the play-in because of a 10-3 start where everyone was playing out of their minds to start the year. Lol

We don’t have shooting. Unless we spend money or rookies play out of their minds. I don’t see it.
Even those last 20 games when playing a bunch of scrubs, sitting healthy starters, and tanking our asses off we were 1 win from being a .500 team. A .500 team makes the play in tournament in both the western and eastern conferences last season. So last season when we were at our absolute worst we could be we were still basically 1 win from being a play in team lol.

Can't wait til THT proves the haters wrong next year
Said all of jazz fans. I literally hope that any jazz player who i think isn't very good proves me wrong every year.

we won a **** ton of 1 point games last year. we won a lot of very close games. a lot of teams were intentionally trying to lose last year given this historically good draft. i would not expect a lot of improvement in our record next year even if we are a better team. that being said next year's draft blows so trade next years to okc and move up in this draft.

The best part about it would be there would be absolutely zero tank talk and it would just be all out trying to win.
Agreed. Great point. Get the weight off our shoulders

Sadly and reluctantly agree (I love sexton and really like Dunn but cant really argue with you). Who is the best at assists (#'s wise) of the pg's in our range?
