Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Flagg looks good so far. Definitely not the most fluid athlete, but is creating enough for a 17 year old. Not sure he'll be a top 5 player, but probably has a range between Tatum and Anunoby that is definitely worth a #1 pick. He would probably need to be a Kawhi level shooter to be a top 5 player in the league. Will he get there? Ehh, most don't.

Started watching this game late, but Harper can really get to wherever he wants. Jumper looks shaky though.

Ace….very little impact tbh. Just shoots an occasional fading away jumper from time to time.

This game is crazy! And the coaching/IQ is off the charts terrible lol. College basketball is such a joke.

Harper is just actually good at basketball. Would be very happy coming away with him, he'd fit great next to Key imo.
Yeah I think Harper and Demin would both fit next to Key as they got passing chops and size. Defense would be shaky at start but offensively either of those combos could work from day 1.

Obviously "fit with Keyonte" shouldn't be among the top 100 criteria when deciding who to draft.

Key will be coming off the bench eventually anyway. His future is a 7th or 8th guy in the NBA.

I'm probably never gonna get to form a top 10 as I'm just trying to learn this whole scouting thing.. but my random thoughts/rankings are just concerning the guys I list. If he isnt on the list, then I dont know who the hell he is. Currently:

1) Flagg - I think he is the only guy I feel like is nearly guaranteed to be good two-way player in the NBA. He is somewhat undefined as an offensive player, and how his shooting develops is gonna make a massive difference in how good he can become. I'm sure his defense is gonna be there and he will be a guy who makes a lot of "winning play", but may need someone else to carry the torch on offense with him being the secondary guy (doesnt mean he cant be the best player, just not likely the primary on ball option). Ridiculous athleticism for a white dude.

2) Demin - He truely looks and feels like a legit PG prospect and his passing and vision are already really good. I believe he will become NBA level handler and isnt bad as he is right now. If he learns to knock down 3s with a faster launch, his offensive ceiling could be close to #1 option level. Defensively he may be a Josh Giddey (excuse the weak white comp)... but at least he isnt Luka (excuse the second weak white comp). He has the length to improve his defense, but even in the best scenario he is probably not capable of defending PoA at a high level, especially against quicker guards.

3) Harper - Gonna be a turnstile on defense early on, but if he ever figures that side of the ball out he will likely be a very good player. He is a fake point guard who may or may not be able to shoot. I think out of the top 3 he is the best 3 level scorer out of the gate and that comes down to his awesome ability to finish at the rim. Really nice touch on layups and such. One real concern on him is does he have enough explosiveness to get to the rim in the NBA? Spacing should help, but on ball defenders are also quicker with better footwork. Remains to be seen, but he feels like a gamble worth taking.

4) Bailey - Already went into detail. Hopefully he shames my MPJ comments. Wouldnt hate him at all and he is definitely WAY more of a blue chip prospect than any of our current young guys.

5) Abdi Bashir Jr - I mean did you see than Monmouth - Rutgers game? Dude was carrying his team like prime Steph, getting 17 threes up (most of them off the dribble) and making 10 of them.

To be continued.
No changes to my top 4, but Abdi Bashir Jr falls off completely after his 4 point showing against.... checks notes.... Presbyterian Blue Hose (is that a real team?!?!). Lets put VJ Edgecombe in his place albeit the bust potential of that guy absolutely terrifies me.

I almost moved Bailey above Harper a week or so ago when he had that one awesome game, but I'm glad I didnt since I would have probably moved them back here. I'm not sure what my justification is for having Bailey so low as I believe his ceiling may be the highest of anyone. Maybe I'm just not buying that he reaches it or smth.

I may be inches away from lifting Harper 2nd, as Demin has had few rather passive outings and I'm not sure if he is cherry picking his FGA. However I'm pretty sure 64.4% FG and 56.5% 3P are NOT his real shooting numbers if he had proper volume.

1) Flagg
2) Demin
3) Harper
4) Bailey
5) Edgecombe

The dribbling/driving part of Flagg's game is very sketchy. He can't drive past NCAA bigs, and relies on scoring over/around people which is going to be much harder in the NBA.
Indeed. For a supposed generational talent, way too often he looks like he's having to work extremely hard to be able to score against NCAA defenses. I don't see the offensive extra gear he's gonna need in the League.

He'll have more space to work with in the NBA as well and should be able to use a screen to get a step on defenders. It's the same way the Jazz set up drives for Lauri. In other words, he won't have to create these drives from a cold start.
