Kendall Marshall - Our next PG Hope

Definitely. Which is why I think it takes (their choice);

Al/Sap
+
Burks/Hayward
+
GSW

That's somewhat realistic, but those pairings are pretty far off in value. Millsap clearly > Jefferson, and Burks > Hayward.
So
Al, Burks, GSW
or
Sap, Hayward, GSW

would be my conditions.

"May be"

1) Kanter/Favors
2) Burks
3) GSW pick

If it was me, I'd still take Lillard and keep Kanter/Favors & Burks over Rondo...

Might be right, for sure .. but I'm tired of trying to find the diamond in the rough .. and barely making the playoffs. Time to be aggressive ..imo.

I want to be aggressive, but I don't want to give up Kanter or Favors. And we have the assets to make Boston a very legitimate offer without including the young bigs. I just love the position we're in.

Either of those trades I think KOC would do it a heartbeat but I'm pretty sure Ainge would hang up to both of those offers..

First it was Marshall vs. Rivers, then it was a Lillard is our savior thread, now it's a Rondo trade thread. Welcome to the world of sports boards :)
Ah sports boards, where forum titles mean nothing.
LOL.. we're only taking a break..

I'm sure the Marshall vs Rivers vs Lillard would get fired up again in March.. LOL

Alright carry on....I won't get involved with Rondo stuff till I see more of him. Ever since Big Al came to Utah, I don't trust players based on stats.

Can you name any players like Mark Jackson or Andre Miller that are starting in the NBA right now? Hell, Andre Miller was a terrible shooter/scorer and he's still quite a bit better than Marshall at that.

To my credit I did compare Marshall to Miller as a lesser extent.

As far as finding more examples of M. Jackson and Miller there aren't any because it's rare to find pure pg's in this era of the "sportscenter era". Players at a young age would rather play like Rose or Westbrook. So what happens is they ignore those skills like passing and court awareness and pg playmaking skills like making others better instead of that individual. In my opinion scouts are looking for the superior athletes and some of the players that are less athletic are missed even though they might have superior pg skills like Marshall. Marshall may not have slipped through the cracks because his pg skills are that good, and so over the top, he has forced others to take notice. For the record I feel Marshall is a better athlete then Jackson was. And I saw plenty of Jackson during his prime.

This is a good argument.

The question is:
1) Are there few floor generals in the NBA because they're ousted?
2) Or are there just not many players with that skillset?

For the record, I think it's number 2......

As I said above...

Young players try to play like Westbrook, and ignore other aspects of the game like passing, causing those important pg skills to be under developed. Also to much importance is placed on athletic ability. The way we look at players today is, if you aren't athletic you are no good, which is false. So it's a little of both in my opinion.
