Kirelenko in Trade talks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This trade seems to straight up depend on Melo committing to a deal to NJ. I dont know if he will, so it might not even really matter.

AK for Diaw...

I dont know, im on the edge. It makes money sense, and i dont see us getting any worse. But it gets Melo out of our division, sooner. But I dont really think it makes much of a difference. If you think about it, Melo out of Denver means more wins for other teams in the West so its really too hard to predict.

Im getting that

(a) Utah feels Hayward can have an immediate impact.
(b) Jefferson might be getting more playtime at center than we expect
(c) Diaw will be backing up Millsap

But when Memo comes back this creates a huge logjam.

(d) Some Jazz fans here are greatly over-valuing AK

This blog is saying that Boris Diaw was rivalling Tyrus Thomas for PF minutes in Charlotte, FWIW.

This Suns site gives Diaw an honorable mention in defense. As a center.

[Not a bad accolade to be able to play up to taller competition, but Utah needs wing defense, especially with Catch 'n Jack and Elder Hayward competing for minutes at the 3. And what about Jeremy "pogostick" Evans? Does he or Diaw have any semblance of a shot to play at the 3?]

Franciso Elson, Raja Bell, Earl Watson, Boris Diaw,

This is roster I would expect if Mrs. Pearl went to a NBA fantasy draft in my place due to my suffering a gastric incident.

What? How the hell are the Jazz going to find minutes for everyone if Diaw is playing at the 4? 96 minutes for Memo, Anderson, Big Al, Sap, Diaw...

I guess we just play them 18-20 each.

Hayward better be ready to play 35 minutes every night...

Diaw can't play the 3 very much. If you have watched him play the 3 you would understand. He is too slow. Some players he could guard but not many.

Bell:32
Miles: 32
Hayward: 24
Diaw: 8

Millsap: 32
Jefferson: 34
Diaw: 12
Anderson (if he is apart of the trade): 18

We cannnot depend on OKur. Reports are saying late december. We need depth just in case Okur can't play fully.

I am not saying its ideal but It would still work. Diaw could play a little bit of 3 but not much.

What reports are saying late December? 12 effective minutes of Diaw is worth AK? Really? I'd rather just give those 12 minutes to Memo (when he's ready), Fes and Sap, and hold onto AK (he'll be more effective in those 8 minutes, and better than the rest of our wings).

Maybe you should stop digging that hole.

FWIW AK is the only game-changer on the team not named Williams or Jefferson. You can't trade that (and the expiring) for a longer contract and a position of least need. You don't trade game-changers unless you have to or unless you're saving a **** TON of money (which the Jazz wouldn't be).

Per Locke, this trade would save the Jazz $19m this year alone, and without taking a major step backwards. You wanna tell me how that is not saving a **** TON of money?

I would prefer us not to trade for Diaw though. I am just stating how it could possibly work.

I don't like trading for somebody making 9 million for 2 more years to play 20 minutes a night MAX. Jazz need to find a better option in terms of money and talent.
