Jazz going after OJ Mayo

There really isn't any FA option out there that is attainable for us that I actually want us to pursue, but OJ would definitely be one of the safer looking signings. Of the now "core 5" I'm sure most of us feel that the least important member is Burks so if we're going to make a somewhat large FA splash I'd want to do it sacrificing minutes for Burks.

Am I crazy to think Burks ceiling is about what Mayo is now? 15ppg 40% from 3?

You are not crazy to think that because its a possibility.
Iys also a possibility that his ceiling is dwayne wade.
If he had been playing lots of minutes the last few years then we would have a much better idea of how good he can be.

Personally I think he is/will be better than mayo

I would rather go for Gerald Henderson than Mayo.

Mayo is garbage...just look at what Carlisle had to say about him towards the end of the year.

Shocking.

If you'd care to retort with statistical backing on why you would prefer Mayo, I would be willing to listen.

Until then, continue with the sarcasm that shows that you don't know what you're talking about.

Your choice.

Nah I'd rather just troll you. More entertaining.

Any other Dukies we should go for? What's Miles Plumblee's deal these days?

This move would surprise me. OJ is going to get a sizeable contract, and there's little doubt that we will extend Hayward. If we sign OJ to a 3-4 year deal for around 8M, I interpret that to mean that Burks is not in our long-term plans. That would really be a shame.

Being the bum that he is. Never should have gotten drafted in the 1st round...he got drafted to play the role that his brother will play, and his brother is 10x time the player he is.

FYI I have always liked Hendo, and I'd be okay with him being on this team. He reminds me too much of Hayward though. His penetrating/playmaking isn't good enough IMO.

Not statistical, but Gerald Henderson plays for Charlotte. Just sayin.

I'm just sayin, look at his post-all star stats.

19/4/3.5 in 35 mpg while shooting 46% and getting to the line 6 times a game. Those are pretty damn good numbers, plus he plays good defense.

As for reminding you of Hayward...he's not a good 3 point shooter, he's a good slasher, and he must be pretty decent at creating since the Bobcats didn't really have a PG that did too much for them. I think he's a lot better than people realize.

Absolutely ****ing not. The FO would have to be perpetually, ridiculously drunk off their recent successes.

Wouldn't mind Mayo, but isn't our biggest need a sf? Would love to rape Jordan for MKG. Maybe a deadline swap of some kind or a sign and trade of Al or Millsap.

First, don't use that word. Second, MKG has a long way to go to be a player that you can rely on to help you win games (his shot is busted as **** at the moment and this isn't the 80's).
