what should Favors/Hayward extension be vs what will they be

Then you have enough money to sign a max FA (if you feel so inclined and there is one that is good enough to put the team over the hump) or enough money to extend Burks and Kanter and sign a mid-priced role player.

Athletic "defensive" bigs getting paid just for being athletic and big:

DeAndre Jordan: Can't shoot FT's at all, doesn't have much offense outside of dunking. He gets a little over 10 million per year.

Javale McGee: Also can't shoot FT's, is mentally slow, no offense outside of dunking. No exceptional rebounder or defender. Gets paid 11 million dollars per year


While Favors doesn't have much offense, he is a decent FT shooter (not someone you can perform a fouling strategy on), is a top-10 rebounder, a pretty good defender, and shows hints of being offensively capable. If shows he can stay on the floor for 32+ mpg he is getting at least 12 million this year unless he completely flops the season.

Plus Favors shows a higher IQ and work ethic than either of the players above.

When has that happened? It sounds nice in theory but it doesn't take much for us to not matter. Players would rather go play in Milwaukee.

IDK about the Milwaukee thing, but yeah, your right. It probably won't happen, but who knows? Maybe if our team really shows out this year someone will think it's a good opportunity.

I'd be really surprised if Hayward got anything over 12. For reference, Batum got 44/4 or 11 per year. I see Batum as a good reference point for Hayward because they are both similar sized players who play both sides of the ball and are versatile. Hayward actually has a better dribble game, but I believe Batum is probably considered a better defender.

I would place Hayward's range from 8-12.

Put Favors at 10-14.
