What's new

2013-2014 Schedule to be released this tuesday (6th August 2013)

18 games in the first 32 days - 10 on the road.

And the 6 of the 8 home games are against solid playoff teams.

Gonna be ugly.

Let's take it one step further:

In 62 days the Jazz play-

34 games

19 on the road

15 at home

Of the home games the Jazz play-

11 games against playoff caliber teams

I believe that 10 wins by the end of 2013 might be overachieving. I think 25 wins total seems about right.

Look at the last month of the season:

4/4 vs NOP
4/6 @ GSW
4/8 vs Dal
4/11 vs Port
4/12 @ Den
4/14 vs LAL
4/16 @ Min

If Stern wanted it to look like the Jazz were tanking to end the season he certainly made it seem reasonable. The Jazz might win 1 of those last 7 games. Brutal.

I love how brutal our schedule is at the start of the season. Starting 1-10 or something would set the tone for the rest of the season and scare the **** out of the whole team.

Wow ridiculously hard start to the season. That first month (plus Oct. 31) we get OKC twice, CHI twice, GS twice, HOU, BKN, and SA. At least we get PHO 3 times.

Great. Rather play Phoenix early on when Burke is bound to really struggle. Hope for Phoenix to win 2 of those so they have the tiebreaker edge. If we HAVE to win a game here and there, let's hope it's against the Oakland Tankers.

Utah will definately have to get their w's in the middle of the season.

Looking like a 4 and 17 start. Four of the first six games (OKC, Houston, Brooklyn, Chicago) are verse elite and could be massive blowouts.

I could see 4-4 through the first 8 games actually, seems pretty doable.
OKC-L PHX-W BRK-L BOS-W CHI-L DEN-W NO-W SA-L

Ouch, first 6 games are all part of back to back sets. 6 total back to back games in November. Stay strong Jazz Fanz.

December 4 back to backs.
January 2.
February 2
March 4
April 1.

19 total is fewer than the last time I remember counting a few years ago. Jazz had a couple of seasons of 21-23 or something back to backs.

Lottery ties aren't broken based on head-to-head record, etc. They just flip a coin.

Phoenix will win more. They have two capable pgs, two bigs, and one of their distractions just got rid of himself.

Just put the schedule into my spreadsheet.

WC teams Utah only plays three times: Houston (2H, 1A); LA Clippers (1H, 2A); Memphis (2H, 1A), Sacramento (1H, 2A)
WC teams Phoenix only plays three times:

Jazz fanz night out

Monday Dec. 30 vs Charlotte. Big Al vs his prodigy?

Monday March 10th, vs Atl....Return of the Sap?

Or Wednesday Feb 12th vs Phi ? Philly will be playing 3rd road game in 4 nights going into the All Star break. If the Jazz are going to win just one game this season it should be that one.
