Jazz Just Signed Trevor Booker According To Woj

Someone who doesn't understand the "tank" philosophy.
Do you think DMC would have made the Jazz a better team last year?
Would you rather have finished with the 7th or 8th best record and had someone like McDermott instead of Exum?

OK - let's just sign scrubs so we can tank EVERY YEAR.

Of course, smart guy, you will remember Utah finished 43-39 two seasons ago. At that point was it obvious we were going to suck the next season?

No! In fact, despite the salary dump trade everyone was so excited that our front court would be improved with better defense. Many people thought this since Jefferson was so bad on defense and having Kanter and Favors starting would be an upgrade.

And we had our PG of the future and we had Hayward shooting 42% from 3. And some were excited about Burks.

At that point, it wasn't obvious we were going to be one of the worst teams.

If we had kept Milsap and Carroll we would not have Exum.

Yes them on this team would be great. But it wouldn't have been this team.

You're not giving Tyrone Corbin enough credit. :) With his skills, we would have been terrible with or without those guys. And if we really did want to tank, then they would have found a way to ensure that it didn't make a difference.

Jesus ****. People on here and twitter talking about breaking flexibility.

Do these turds realize that there's a salary FLOOR of $56.7 million that that Jazz have to get to? There's a reason the contract is what it is. Even with that they still have to spend nearly $1.6 million.

By winning the last game of the war Corbin proved that tanking was not his goal. Millsap and Carroll add at least 3 wins to this team. That places Utah around 7th or 8th in the draft instead of 5th.

No one is talking about this year...

Man... if we would have tanked in 1997 we could have had Tim Duncan (5th pick was Tony Battie). And oh, if we tanked in 1998 we could have had Michael Olowokandi (5th pick was Vince Carter).

We could have tanked. Damn. Gotta have that tank. Wonder how the Jazz did in 1997 and 1998?

Even next year there's gonna be money needing to be spent. $500, legit bet. That the Jazz will be in the same situation if needing to spend money just to get to the floor next year.

And evidently that is the only way they can get to that floor.

Is this is serious bet?? Next year?

Yes. I'll put in $500. If i'm wrong, I'll split it between the people who want in. When i'm right, everyone chips in and gives me dat mullah.

Next year Hayward is getting 15 , Favors 12, Novak 3, Exum 3, Burke 2.6, Gobert 1, Hood 1, Booker 5. That right there is 42.6 million. The qualifying offers for Kanter is 7.8 mil and Burks is 4.4 mil. That is 54.6 million. Do you think that Burks is only gonna get 4? Or Kanter only 7?

What if they want to go after someone big? Every little bit matters. By them selves they are little and can be absorbed no problem. B ut if you keep pilling them up then it does matter.

That's my point. The trend.

Decent contract, he will just be entering his prime at 26. More athletic than Millsap, but doesn't have Sap's offensive repertoire.
