    Jazz acquire Novak from Raptors

Yes, that WAS a miracle that we actually dumped Memo AND got a second round pick in return, but second round picks are not that valuable. What's really pathetic is that Toronto just screwed us just now about as bad as we screwed the Nets in that trade. At least Memo was on 10 mil expiring...

    Jazz acquire Novak from Raptors

Not bad? We just wasted 7 mil of money and cap room for a pathetic scrub. With Hayward likely returning (Jazz said they will match any offer and looks like max offers was just bs) and having just drafted Hood, having Evans, why are we bringing in a scrub forward that is on more than a one year...

    Jazz acquire Novak from Raptors

We are going to not only overpay this pathetic scrub this year, but also next year as well - 3.5 mil wasted. And for what - a 2nd round pick? This makes no sense at all. If we are taking 7 mil worth of garbage on our books, there had better be at least a first round pick involved. Seems like a...

Rumor: Jazz prepared to match 'any offer' for Hayward.

There is absolutely no way we should match MAX offer should Hayward get one. The argument whom to spend money on is ridiculous. Haven't we learned anything at all from AK47 fiasco? You cannot overpay players, and Hayward, while a very solid above average player, is nowhere near a difference...

Favors, Hood (the #23) and Exum (the #5) for...

I am excited about Exum falling on our lap as much as the next guy, but there is enormous difference between Parker, who proved to be star in NCAA, and Exum, who dominated Australian HS kids. Yeah, he also made all tournament team in U19 championship, but this is not saying much: Gordon was MVP...

Favors not included in Cavs trade talks

Favors is the only good asset we have. Do the Jazz think they can get Wiggins for scrubs? Sent from the JazzFanz app

Report: #5, Favors, Burks for Cavs' #1 pick

The reason Cavs might like Orlando offer more is because it gets them Embid or Exum. That's a different league from NCAA scrubs like Gordon and Volneh (in spite if their athleticism). Randell is real talent, but looks like there are concerns about his foot too, which is driving his stock down...

    Colton's 2014 Mock Draft Compilation, v. 3.0 (final)

It's all about getting assets. We already have a pair of top 3 picks too in front court. If both Burke and Smart develop into great players, it will be easy to move one of them. And if Smart becomes a star who puts up Paul George type of performances and gets to the line a lot, who cares about...

    Colton's 2014 Mock Draft Compilation, v. 3.0 (final)

Looks like Vonleh will be the pick: what a disappointment. More often than not DX and Nbadraft.net predict early picks well. Vonleh is one of these guys you would not select based on performance, but more so on measurements. Favors was like that too, and he had even better frame than Noah...

Grantland Article on Exum, Vonleh and Gordon

The more I analyze Gordon and Volneh, the less I like them. I just don’t see them becoming impact players in NBA, or even solid starters. Gordon with his 42% FT shooting and not having a true position is of particular concern. I feel it would be a tremendous waste of a pick to get one of these...

    Noah Vonleh. Why???

Agreed. I was trying to point out the fact both were not difference makers at NCAA at the same age when they played there, and hence are drafted largely based on athleticism and size without actually proving anything in NCAA in spite of playing a year. Solid prospect, no doubt, but I am not...

    Noah Vonleh. Why???

Vonleh's best comparison is Favors. Take a look at Derrick's college stats: https://statsheet.com/mcb/players/player/georgia-tech/derrick-favors Both are drafted on potential: very young bigs (both turn 19 right after draft), extremely athletic, had ok seasons for their clubs with similar stats...

    Butterfly effect

Indeed, imagine if Michael Jordan's dad got a drop of perspiration in the eye and pulled out... Now that's a butterfly effect I am sure we all dreamed of over and over again.

    Coin....

That's part of, and it is a pretty huge part as well. But there is another element too. Let's say top 3 teams end up with top 3 picks. Then we get #4 pick instead of 5, which is pretty significant. Locke of course did not account for that, but we have a much better chance at being top 4 than...

    Coin....

This is the first time Jazz won the the tie breaker in decades. This is huge for the Jazz - this one spot may be a difference between a superstar and just a good player. For once the fortune has smiled upon us... for now.

Burks is the reason we're winning games

Burks is having similar season to Hayward's last year. Coming off the bench, occasionally starts, and doing very well. Is he better than Hayward? Too early to tell as both are young and things can still change. But he is having a better year in the role that he is playing vs Hayward in his role.
