    Favors training with Malone

Offensivey, yes, a very similar skill set. BUT, It takes very different physical ability to guard the likes of Howard or Bynum than it does Dirk Nowitzki or Pau Gasol. When Millsap was at SF, it was FAVORS who ran out to defend the opposing SF instead of Millsap, who was too slow to react...

Seeing AL Objectively - SLCdunk article

As noted in the article, EVERY NBA C has trouble defending P & R, noy just Al. Al has improved his passing as his teammates actually MOVE w/o the ball, which is frequently an issue. He could still be a better rebounder, IMO. Big Al is a tireless worker, so I expect that to happen. Favors...

    Favors training with Malone

Further evidence Favors prefers the PF position over playing C... If he develops anything close to Malone's outside game, look out... And all that extra work should improve his stamina, which has been an issue too...

Seeing AL Objectively - SLCdunk article

Absolutely true! Al wants to win, and knows he's the best option. Also an issue is his teammates failing to free up from their defender by actually MOVING. They too often stand and watch when Al has the ball. It's easy for an opponent to guard a stuatue...

    Jazz wanted Ryan Anderson?

By NOT trading Millsap, we kept him and AND still added Marvin, Mo, and Foye, giving up only Harris in the process. As much as I like Anderson, the trades/signings we did were better for the Jazz. Would've been interesting if we'd gotten Anderson, as he would've been the SECOND ex-New...

    foye's history at PG

I suspect Foye is here as more of a shooter. It's really all about player combos anyway. He is a far better defender than either Watson or Tinsley. Just an example, but if Hayward and Burks are on the floor with Foye, we might still be able to distribute the ball effectively, w/o a "true" PG...

    Jazz wanted Ryan Anderson?

Anderson obviously was an outstanding 3-point shooter and a good rebounder. A willing but not so athletic defender. Had to be a tough call for the Jazz, as Millsap is not a great offensive weapon in any one area, but does have a ton of intangibles and is more creative every year at finding ways...

Shocking stat for us "build through the draft people."

In just his 2nd season. Had a little help from Oscar Robertson, one of the few NBAers to average a triple double earlier in his career. Saw them play; one of the most dominant teams ever.

With Cho running the show in Charlotte, he ain't giving up ANY draft picks.

I actually like how the Jazz match up with the Lakers...

The key is really the Jazz players themselves, who are mostly still growing in NBA stature. We know what the vets on the Lakers have. 1. Can Favors actually START while staying out of foul trouble? Couldn't do it last year... And Millsap is no match for Gasol in the paint. 2. Will...

    Big Al to Orlando?

If we trade Al, who on our roster can play 30+ minutes at C? Favors doesn't like playing C to start with; IMO, he'd be very unreliable, especially just staying on the court at C for 30+ minutes. And Kanter is far from ready to play 30+ minutes a game...

list your desired changes to the offense...

PASS the ball better. For a team that prides inself on team play, we are below average as a TEAM as far as passing. Even when Jefferson isn't on the court. And part of that is our cutters too often stop cutting.

Jazz back in talks with Josh Howard

Amazing how folks judge Howard based soley on his post-injury performance. It appeared to me he was thrust into the lineup before he was really ready, and he played poorly. BEFORE that injury, he did play a whole lot better than Carroll did later. IF we can get Howard at a decent price, I would...

Jazz back in talks with Josh Howard

My thoughts exactly. Truth be told, Carroll sets our offense back noticeably, and didn't look any better in Summer League. If Howard is healthy, he's a respectable all-round player, who can hit the J. Carroll is just BAD on offense, unfortunately...

    I'm convinced, bring in Mejri

Mejri looks a lot quicker on his feet, and not as big. More of a PF.

    CJ to the Cavs

IMO, Byron Scott is a good coach. We'll see if CJ actually gets any more consistant under him, or not. The opportunity is certainly there. I will say their PG situation is a lot better than what we had in SLC last year.

Ah; didn't know that he left early; probably the Jazz knew this up front. Thanks for the explanation.

    I'm convinced, bring in Mejri

Argentina won by 20+, but had 3 pretty good NBAers; Delfino, Scola, and Ginobli. Mejri plays like a 7'1" Kirilenko, and looks bigger to me than his listed weight. AND, this says his contract is up in September... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salah_Mejri
