A plea for more scoring and ball handling via the 12th pick

I'll be pissed if we draft Luwawu and he becomes a good ball-handling wing with a meh three-point shot. Pls God no more of that.

edit: with this said I'm not sure who else the Jazz should pick at 12. Not sure any PG prospects around there are better than Dante, or what can be had in FA.

His form looks pretty good:

Korkmaz is the better bet to be a knock down shooter tho

Pretty sure he's been shooting 40% from 3, and has had better %s over the course of his career. Shooting the ball just seems like something that's been more natural to him, whereas Luwawu is more methodical and slow shooting it.

The sample size (at least from what I see on DX) is much bigger for Luwawu's 3pt shots.

28 games, 5.6 attempts per game at 37% vs 38 games, 1.4 attempts per game at 42%

Luwawu's 3pt shot looks like Ariza's to me.

It took 9 seasons for Ariza to finally shoot above 35% from 3-- 10 seasons for him to hit 40.

I'm confused, are we trading back for the 12th pick? I hope we get a good player along with the 12th pick for the #1 pick. Didn't cross my mind to trade that pick.

mechanics matter. Think of Trey Lyles and his stats for shooting threes vs nearly every other 3, 4, or 5 drafted last year.

He might be the best of the lot-- and people thought that the likes of Stanley Johnson and Myles Turner would be far superior.

I hate Korkmaz's form in these videos compared to Luwawu's. It looks like he flicks the ball and he doesn't hold his follow through like Luwawu.

Dal you tried to convince the board that Pleiss had good shooting mechanics. I trust nothing you say on shooting mechanics, sorry.

I can't claim to be an expert either, but I like Luwawu's shooting form better and I think it will translate to being a better set shooter.

Yeah, I'm not saying Luwawu doesn't show promise as a shooter, just that Korkmaz seems further along in that department, based on the eye test.

He definitely seems to be more comfortable shooting fade aways and such.

Overall, I like Luwawu more.

hard to say who's the better shooter from looking at both videos. Both look like they'll hit above 35% in the NBA though.

impressive video. I'm assuming the Turk doesn't mock as well defensively?

I'm not sure what to think of the flick, but I noticed it too. I'll say this though: he's got a quicker release, and seems to be able to hit off balance jumpers more.

To me he looks like the far superior shot creator. He can really make some difficult jump shots. His form is so-so to me though. This dude hardly ever holds his follow through.

Basically.

Timothe could help Hayward out a lot by taking on the most difficult perimeter player to guard.

How far can we move up if we offered Trey Burke, 12th pick and GS pick? I say move up early so teams won't ask crazy amounts of pick on draft day. I'm looking at you Charlotte!
