I like "Big Al". I thought that Utah should've drafted him (he went #15 after Krissy Humphries), and maybe this is why they are willing to nab him now, just like they nabbed Boozer after regretting about not drafting him (along with half the teams in the NBA). Looks like Minny is unloading him because he's more of a post player, not a triangle-offense guy. Too bad Rambis is too inflexible to adapt the offense to his players, rather than vice-versa.
At draft time, AJ was a high-schooler, and Utah was probably leery after their underwhelming experience with DeShawn Stevenson. But AJ seemed to be less of a "hopper" than DS, and ironically, K-Hump turned into a bit of a headcase anyway after being an unjustified epicenter of the offense at the University of Minnesota for a single season--one measly year more than the taller Jefferson.
If Jefferson's past injuries don't bother him, I could see him be modestly better to Boozer in short order. At a slightly cheaper price.
Just show me effort on defense, Big Al, and you will win my adoration over Boozer. "Regardless."
At draft time, AJ showed a 2-inch better maximum vertical than boozer and a similar 3/4-court speed but much slower lane agility.

I am SHOCKED that Booze showed such a good lane agility because he barely moves his feet on D.

What a waste of talent. If Boozer weren't such a selfish ******* (and I'm talking defense and stats, not salary), even by NBA standards, Utah could've gone farther. I can see AK-PM-AJ as a very nice frontcourt on both ends of the floor.
