Burks at #12

That would be crazy...having Burks at the 1 and Hayward at SG. We'd have the biggest guard tandem in the league. Add Favors and Kanter and all Utah would need is a 6'10" SF to complete the lineup.

I dont think I want him resigned. But AK fits your description of a tall 3.

I am more excited about Burks than Kanter. Historically if a player's game is smooth, more likely than not he will become a star level player. He needs to put on another 10 pounds I believe in order to gain enough strength to take the hits in NBA defense, but once he does that, I really can see him as a D-Wade-Lite.

I see a role-playing version of Roy. Wade is so freakishly athletic I don't think its right to compare the two.

I totally agree but his measurements were solid. 6'5" without shoes. A 6'10" wingspan. An 8'7.5" standing reach. His max vert reach was also 11'7.5" which is VERY good for a guard.

Holy ****, that's good. Didn't realize he had that length. If he adds some weight, he could potentially guard 1-3.

I hope Ty sends this message to Alec next year: your defensive effort will keep you on the floor. You put the energy out there, then I won't sub you out. Don't worry about your offense, you've got that, and we'll get you the ball.

If he can guard 3 positions, then we ABSOLUTELY stole something at #12.

he needs to get bigger, he needs to improve his shooting, he needs to learn to play defense
He has lots of to improve before even being a starter.

Ok, let me rephrase...a tall 3 who can shoot the ball and wants to improve his game instead of reading Russian novels. The AK of 6 years ago had that potential. The AK of today needs to be put on the first JetBlue fight to New Jersey. Oh wait, Deron hates the guy. So much for AK joining his comrade, Prokhorov.

Not to get side tracked as I know this is a popular assumption but I know I've read over the last couple of years that they do or have hung out in the off season/vacations and especially their wives and kids.

Also the tall SF's that can shoot almost can never play any D, unless they're a AS and the Jazz couldn't afford or lure one to Utah at this point anyway. Generally the only way your going to get the taller SF's is either they're going to have a flaw (offense no defense or vise versa) pay max or near max in FA market or you draft one hope they turn into that and then will eventually have to pay.

I know what you're saying. I just see the pattern in what KOC is doing. We now have a couple of very big SG's. KOC had Favors as the #1 big on his board (and now we have him). If not a tall SF, I'd like to see the Jazz get a lock-down defender. Jazz will have enough offense from Hayward, Jefferson, Harris and Millsap/Favors. There aren't a lot of touches left for a starting SF.

He has a couple of quirks in his jumpshot, I think Hornacek will be the greatest thing to ever happen to Burks... if he works that out, sky is the limit
