I know Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams are most people's lock at #1 and #2 but why wouldn't you consider Kanter?

Imagine Favors & Kanter front court locked for the next 7 years - would you say no to that?

Dang I can't wait tell Tuesday...I just hope its great news for the jazz! And kanter will be a top 3 pick come on David stern us jazzfanz need a little more hope for the future!

I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't know what all the hype is about. He looks really slow and doesn't seem very athletic. He's has a nice shooting stroke though. Mehmet Okur part II?

Ha ha after that video I change my vote to 1st.

Hahaha, good on you! I was thinking that as well..

It kinda reminds me about last year's draft where Turner went 2nd and Johnson went 4th - all the while Cousins was ignored (for legit reasons I guess) and ended up at 5th. Cousins was actually a much better talent than those two (and arguably Favors) IMHO (ignoring his attitude, etc).

So now Kanter - is he a better talent than Irving and Williams? I don't know. But a better question is "is he on par" with those 2? I'd have to say Yes.

Have you ever seen Okur dunk from the free throw line? (Ref from above video: 1.20min, 3.27min, 3.40min)

3 or 4. I think they really like Kanter. His rebounding will translate from day 1, and he will be able to score easy baskets in the paint.
Defense is a concern, but that didn't stop their love affair with Memo, and Boozer.

Draft analysis from my 8-year-old daughter:

"Wow, he just hit like twenty in a row."
I explained that they were only showing the ones he made.
"He's still really good. I can barely get it in the basket. Unless you pick me up and let me drop it in."

She's ready to draft him. I should note that this is the first prospect she has "scouted," so she may find someone else with even better skills. Like another guy who can shoot without his father lifting him up AND who can dribble without having to play patty cake with his coach at the same time.

The dude's just unstoppable with nobody guarding him. I'd like to see him do that with a traffic cone, or maybe a 3 year old wearing a traffic cone, but I'm pretty sold.

I think he's probably #3 on the Jazz's board. I wouldn't be upset at all if we took him. In fact, I would probably be excited.

I just hope that people understand that shooting drills isn't the strongest indicator of success. His lack of athleticism and durability are concerns. Despite him being a lotto pick, lets remember, Boom Bitches too went to Ohio St and was supposed to be picked in the lottery. So just because he was highly recruited, showed good skills (Darko BLEW people away with his shooting drills), and supposed to be picked in the lottery, doesn't mean he's going to be a good player in the NBA.

Kanter is risky, since I doubt any of us have seen him actually play in a game. Youtube highlights can be so misleading.

Yeah I don't see much quickness. His vertical leap isn't impressive either. It's not like he's hitting those shots with defenders in his face.

Kanter worked out for KOC a while back if anybody remembers that. I think he will end up being a top 3 pick and I would say it is possible he is 2 or even 1 on the Jazz board. He has a very nice shooting stroke for his size, and I'm talking purely about how his shot looks, not that he made all of them in the highlight reel. He did tear up Sullinger in that Nike Hoop Summit game and I haven't seem him play but from highlights and reports, shots inside and rebounding seem to be his main focus, and then spreading the floor.

In this draft, he is top 3 talent in my opinion. My questions are durability and defense though.

He is definitely an interesting prospect. If he can play at least moderately good defense, I think he would be a good pick. If he cant, then I dont really want him that much.
