Following potential 2015 draftees

And he's very athletic. Like verticality.

I would call it elite.
His newly found offense is a surprise. He's hitting 16 footers and sky hooks with regularity. Fools gold? Maybe.
he is an intriguing prospect in the late lottery.

I think Winslow and Hezonja definately belong in the conversation.

I've been pretty down on WCS offensively last season and was ready to write him off. I haven' really watched more than 10 min of live Kentucky basketball this year but his stats are impressive this year.
So definitely looks like the draft might be almost a carbon copy of what happened last season: three at the top, and then good talent all the way through the top-10. Could even make it possible if the Jazz finish top-5 or so and want to put together a package to move up.

I am sorry to ask this question here, but I was wondering - does anybody remember if Giannis worked out for us?

The obligatory disclaimer "I haven't seen enough, but from what I've seen...":
Last year's draft had series of players even in the second round that one can conceivably see developing into solid NBA starters. I think the coming draft is a notch(or several) below last years, but it seems to have good quality in the top 10 at least and what's more important to us it has great prospects in areas where we desperately need upgrades - it seems to be full of bigs who could all go before any of the bigs from last year(minus Embiid) - Towns, Okafor, WCS, Turner(I am not super high on him)... I think all of those are better prospects than Nurkic or McGary(the second and third Cs from last year's draft). Also Porzingis is interesting if we give up on Kanter and look for a stretch 4.
It also has some great perimeter defenders at the SG/SF position in Winslow and Johnson, contrasted with great defenders at the PG spot last year(Smart, Payton, and potentially Exum). In general I like what we can get at pretty much any position in the top 8.

About the 9-12 positions... depends on who falls to those. We are bound to have some surprises both going down and skyrocketing in value by the draft... I haven't seen Hezonja play this year, but from what I've read scouts say, he's behind schedule and he's not gelling well in team concepts. I don't really like Cliff Alexander much(undersized, no jumpshot). If we fall out of reach of the desired bigs/stretch 4s and perimeter defenders, I'd probably take a shot at the potential of Kevon Looney or D'Angelo Russell.

I haven't seen a single great basketball play by Turner like EVER. I don't buy the hype around him.

There is some certain "complementary" potential out there to grab. It's interesting.

Also the only thing I liked about Cliff Alexander so far were elbow jumpers.

I can't recall, so prolly not. There would have been a lot of talk about him here.

I don't know. If he's the best player on a Kentucky championship team, scouts may forget his age because of how drastically he improved. Right now I think he'd go around 8(Getting a probable rim protector with offensive "potential" is huge). But he might go earlier depending how consistent he is on a daily basis.

I think Giannis was playing mostly in Europe and teams went to Greece to see him perform. Scouts were underwhelmed with the league he was playing in.

I find WCS's lack of touch on offense beyond a couple feet from the hoop disturbing.
</Darth Vader voice>

He's a game-changing athlete, but I need to see more IQ and touch before I believe he's more than a rich-man's Andrew Nicholson. His free-throw percentage seems to be improving, which is a good sign.

More than 30 NBA guys here for this Gonzaga-Arizona game.

So I just recently bought into Tank II (or is it III?) who should I be watching in This game?

From Arizona:
Stanley Johnson...
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

Gonzaga:
Domantas Sabonis, but he's probably going to be eligible for the 2016 draft.

Chris McCollough is an NBA athlete with excellent timing on blocks and steals, decent shooting touch and potential to add more strength and power to his game. He has decent IQ and makes good passes. He also rebounds well, though he'll need to add some size and strength. I think he's lottery talent and has less bust potential than Myles Turner.

He's kind of like what Jeremy Evans might be like if Evans gained 15 - 20 lbs and developed ball skills.

There will be risers and fallers just like last season. I guess the good news is that it looks like solid talent all the way down to #10. SO even if the Jazz make a nice improvement they should still pick up a very good player.

Just noticed this.

Okafor averages 27 minutes, Towns averages 18. Yet, Towns averages more FTA's per game (by a hair). FWIW.

Just watched Arizona-Gonzaga today. Very surprising to see Stanley Johnson getting beat off the dribble consistently in this one...

Towns' passing ability is boner inducing.

He has about two 'special' passes per game. He has incredible vision.

Out of curiosity, who do you like more between Towns now and Kanter back when he was at Kentucky? If they were in college together, who would you have guessed had more potential?

Towns with WAY more potential.
Kanter with way more strength and rebounding.

I loved Kanter (still do) but I would have taken Towns.

I was wondering tonight, why so many foreign prospects choose Gonzaga if they transition early into their careers?

Towns is the best shot blocker, rebounder, and passer of the group... while also being the only one that could theoretically become a threat from 3 at the NBA level.

Highest ceiling in the draft?
