This dude thinks we could get Hill with 2nd rounders.
Top 15 pg for 2nd rounders.
I give up.
No. I said a pick swap + 2nds. And you don't get it. Indiana and Atlanta wanted to deal. Hill HAD to be dealt. And after the trade, The report came out that Atlanta didn't really want to keep that pick. That tells me a swap + 2nds next season likely would have sealed the deal. Hill isn't a great PG anymore. He's good, but not all-star level. He's on an expiring, so they were looking to get whatever they could. Jazz burned a lottery pick on a player who might start this year, but then will be a backup to Dante for the next 4 as Hill ages and declines. Jazz need to be drafting guys they hope can develop into stars, not roster backups. Where would GS be had they not drafted Klay and Draymond but instead traded those picks for 12/3 30-yr olds?
I still can't believe people think Teague is better than Hill. Do y'all actually watch basketball? Care about defense?

Is this true? He thinks his opinions on a message board are so important that he adjusts the record after the fact? Wow.One of PG_AB ideas on how to improve the team, until he sucked in the finals and dude started deleting his posts. Typical of him.
Well coaches and media who watch the game must not be as smart as you since they all have Teague over Hill. Maybe you should get a GM job since you are smarter.. Hill might be a better defernder but Hill is not anywhere near a great defender. Teague hasmade all star games. .Indiana is going be really good this year. The starting lineup is very good. They are a much more potent team with Teague running the show then Hill was. Just watch and see Mr. GM
It's this. I like Hill; he's a good player. But did Utah give up getting another player like Gobert or Hood? Or even worse, a shot at finding a real gem like Klay, Draymond, etc.? The list of all-stars includes a couple of players drafted at/after #12 every year. Guys like Hill can usually be had at the deadline for a 2nd-rounder (i.e. expiring who won't be back with their team). Atlanta didnt even WANT to keep their picks in order to free up more money for free agency.
DL should have gotten Hill much cheaper and STILL had a chance on getting a player with tremendous upside at #12, especially with a couple of players who slipped. He tried to trade back in, but couldn't. That's because he panicked and gave away the #12 when he probably could have played hardball and insisted on swapping picks with Atlanta and throwing in a couple of seconds.
I think it will take Baldwin at least 3-4 seasons to get close to the kind of consistent plays & leadership at the point that Hill can provide from day 1 ...
Also there is no guarantee what kind of 3pt % Baldwin will put up in the NBA ...
Try not to think it's that unbelievable.I still can't believe people think Teague is better than Hill. Do y'all actually watch basketball? Care about defense?
This.I dont think either of Indiana, Utah, or Atlanta were desperate to get a trade done, so I don't really think any side got a significantly better deal. I think it was a pretty fair deal on all sides because of that.

Do a Google search for top pg guards in the nba.
I looked at 4 different lists. 3 has teague ahead of hill and 1 had hill ahead of teague.
They were always really close to each other.
Exactly. It's not insanity to prefer teague to hill.Yeah I think Hill is the better player, even regardless of fit but it's not like it's some wide margin.
It's one of those situations where the causal fan see's all star appearances and Google's assist numbers to determine who is better and who is not and luckily GM's (well at least our GM) does not think that way.
