Gobert update thread

Really doubt Rudy returns this series, at least in good form.

Bone bruises are really debilitating. I remember Eric Gordon missed 26 games with a bruised knee once. I just worry he'll be useless if he tries to come back for Game 3 or 4.

Hood missed 12 days. It's the playoffs. It's really that simple.

He comes back this series. He has tigers blood in his veins.

Rudy was shooting shots and lifting off his knee. Very good signs. He'll miss game 2 but I wouldn't completely rule out a return in Game 3 or 4.

Wtf? Does he have that shot? He'd be an MVP if he could do that in games. Every time he's ever pulled up I feel likes it's been an air ball. But those midrange shots look pretty decent to me.

Summer project Rudy!

Maybe I'm way off here but definitely looked ginger and to be favoring the leg a little in that video.

If that's the case, he has to be weeks away. Maybe months even. Hell, Joel Embiid had been looking insane in workouts for months before they ever let him step on a court and Rudy doesn't look remotely close to that healthy.

Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that Rudy will be out for game 2.

No surprise here. Let's hope he can get back on the court when we return to Salt Lake.

This is encouraging:

[At halftime] he was already out of his uniform and in street clothes by that time. He had a wrap and a bag of ice on his knee. But he wasn't walking with crutches, and he didn't have a brace.

"It was a great sign for us that he didn't need crutches," Jazz shooting guard Rodney Hood said. "He was walking. He was limping a little bit. It meant a lot that he greeted us."

Holy crap, y'all. That's some encouragement right there.

Embiid was dealing with a meniscus tear. Not remotely comparable, IMO.

He should sit till AT LEAST game 4. Even at worse case scenario that would put us at 2-1.

Isn't a bone bruise just painful? I mean Rudy can play, if he can handle the pain. He might have to adjust the way he plays, which makes him less effective and prone to other types of injuries. But I believe he'll play if he's needed. Say if Clips steal home court back.

it's more than pain. Performance (lift, change of direction, recovery, etc.) is impacted in ways not reducible to 'pain'.

Yet he was still doing between the leg dunks months before he ever played. Hell, almost a year before he played.

The meniscus tear is the most recent injury. What sidelined him his first two years was a recurring microfracture of the navicular bone in his (right?) foot.

Wes, it very well could be a while before he's able to play. But maybe not. I'm currently in a default HOPE mode for some reason, which goes against my general inclinations when it comes to the Jazz. I usually expect the worst and sort of hope for slightly better.
