What's new

Hayward reportedly torn ..

Not only that we want you to take paycuts to come here and play out of position at the 4 a lot because we have a lot of guys that are 2s and 3s right now. They have too many moving parts Gordon... stay here... eff boston.

So yeah, the Celtics want to sit down with Hayward, tell him that if he signs with Boston, Boston will then trade for Paul George and they'll have a super team in the east, with good young players coming up behind.

Of course, if in the meantime someone else makes a good offer for Paul George Ainge's plan won't work.

LA on the other hand, wants two superstars -- Paul George, Westbrook, Hayward, maybe even Lebron. They're just as much in the picture, I'd imagine. Hayward has a house in SoCal btw.

In this situation, the Jazz should be willing to move Favors, Hood and a couple first-round picks to bring in a good player. This either attracts Hayward to stay in Utah or replaces Hayward if he leaves.

Also, if the Jazz can facilitate Paul George going to Cleveland and get fair compensations for doing so, they should do it.

Hayward and George Duo in Boston???

If Hayward has the mindset of Durant, a team of Hayward, George, Horford, and Thomas is very hard to pass up.
I hope he stays in Utah, but it would take Utah a couple years (or never) to assemble two other All Stars around Hayward and Gobert.

If you follow the links, this is sourced to the same Boston radio reporter we've been discussing for the past three pages and that Zach Lowe already debunked.

All they have to do is cut $29M in salary to renegotiate and extend PG... which is basically dumping Horford and Smart and taking back no salary... Good luck Boston... also a terrible look to trade Horford a year after he signed when you are trying to sign another free agent. This is total BS

Zach Lowe today:

This is a monumental offseason for Utah. If the Jazz lose both Hayward and George Hill, years of patience will have yielded one playoff series win before another period of semi-rebuilding. Things did not end well with Hill. His toe never healed, and he missed the last three games of Utah's series against Golden State. Hayward and Hill are close. Hayward likely wants to know the team's long-term answer at point guard before possibly re-signing. Without one, the Jazz are at grave risk of losing him.

Calling it now.

Jazz get Beverly and then re-sign Hayward, Hill and Ingles.

Boston strikes out.

Jazz are the only one to improve.

Mack and Neto won't be on the team this season IMO. Neither will Withey.

Gobert/Bradley
Favors/Bolomboy/Diaw
Hayward/Ingles/JJ
Hood/Mitchell/Burks
Hill/Beverly/Exum

No set rotations. Just a players list. Jazz D, toughness, rebounding, shooting and PG rotation play all improve.

2nd seed and WCFs.

1-4:

Warriors
Jazz
Spurs (if the land CP3)
Rockets.

We won't get Hill and Beverly.

Zach Lowe today:

I'm a little tired of this narrative... if we can get a good pg on a doable deal we will. If not we will have options, so if G can't see that then that is on him. It is not like Boston has everything figured out too... they don't even have a max spot yet. So if he isn't willing to give a little patience and feels he should take his chances elsewhere then how much of a chance was he giving us anyway.

The PG market has dried up... we will surely get someone if Hill walks... why do we have to have all the answers when we meet with Hayward, but Boston gets to have 57 dominoes that need to fall right in a grand master plan.

We will have to give up an asset to give him... if they wanted to move him for just space 29 teams could figure that out real quick.

If we give up an asset to get Beverly it isn't to have him back up Hill (with Exum and Mitchell both on the roster too)

We'd use Hill's money on another position of need.

Also, if the Jazz can facilitate Paul George going to Cleveland and get fair compensations for doing so, they should do it.

I'd take KL, send Favors, Burks an all picks including the recently drafted to NO. Meat them in the finals in a nice bout of irony after Gobert knocks Draymond out conscious.

So basically you just don't think they will.

DL is actively looking at PGs and is still meeting with Hill when free agency opens. PG rotation play was one of two biggest areas of concern this season. Imo

Yeah I think we have moved on... Locke had some different comments a while ago... almost made it out like Hayward may not want him if he is perpetually hurt... almost like he could have played against GSW but didn't tough it out... I think it was just speculation.

Hills injuries are not chronic and his injury history is good. No reason to believe last season was anything other than a fluke.

But that's certainly possible. Would still love a Hill, Beverly and Exum PG rotation.

Exactly, and this is why I think it’s all BS. I think Boston is going to be going after Blake Griffin, he fits their need at a position they could use help at.
