Hood's Injury

Bone bruise is a great scenario for Rodney long term, but they effing hurt and can take forever to come back full strength from. Remember Favors bone bruise from the beginning of the year. Hopefully Hood can come back quickly and Burks can fill in until he does.

Favors' main problem is IT band syndrome

Tribune sources: Hood will miss Monday's game in Phoenix with the bone bruise, but will be day-to-day otherwise going forward

Wow...dodged a bullet. When Rodney went down and was pounding the floor and cussing, I thought it was going to be much worse. No reason to rush things. Maybe give it a week and bring him back for the home game on the 23rd?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Hood was diagnosed with bone bruise this morning, and is expected to miss 1-2 weeks, as my dump predicted.

Where you getting 1-2 weeks? The only reporting I'm seeing is coming from Tony Jones (which, curiously, nobody else has confirmed yet -- they've only noted that he reported it) and he gave no timeline.

Hood will miss Utah's game on Monday night against the Phoenix Suns, sources say, and could miss up to 1-2 weeks while waiting for the bone bruise to heal. Sources say Hood is still in significant pain, but that the MRI revealed no other structural damage to his knee.

so you want poor shooting, high usage, selfish, no defense veteran? Gosh, Cy you hitting all time lows. Even Otto Porter would be better value for Jazz now than Gay.

Yeah 46% shooting w/ 36% from deep, poor shooting. Not to mention 85% from FT line. Just awful.

As far as defense, he has a positive DBPM and is 10th in DRPM.

ESPN ranks him as 11th in usage rate among SF's. Nothing too much, he has a usage rate you would expect from a guy who is the clear cut 2nd best player on his team.

But he isnt from Eastern Europe, so I get why you hate him. Last time you probably watched him was probably in Toronto where he wasnt very good.

What I learned about bone bruises this season is that they're a bitch and timelines vary a lot from person to person.

It wont be as long as Favors. Favors has a pre-existing knee issue and is a huge guy. His rehab process was probably had to go slower because of the IT Band issue.

Given the drama from Hood (I thought his knee exploded), I'm forced to assume that a knee bruise is the most painful thing on Earth.

Nah wasn't only thinking about Favors actually. Local player had to undergo surgery because of a bone bruise that didn't go away and it apparently isn't that rare statistically.

What kind of surgery fixes a bruise?
