Jabari Parker could be had fairly cheap

A team can sign their own RFA right now. Another team can't sign a RFA until July 7.

But yes, if it's a sign and trade, it could be arranged right now. Honestly, I feel that is the way this whole Jabari thing will go.

Unless Jabari's camp receives unmistakable signals that there's going to be no worthwhile RFA offers, why would they even begin to entertain a S&T offer at this point?

But if you know Atlanta, Chicago and Sacramento are out then you are done unless it’s midlevel. Atlanta or Chicago will get Zach LaVine... sacaramento? Who the hell knows but if you go there you likely go with the idea of requesting a trade.

I guess they might know this, but I find it unlikely that they would. Isn't Sac rumored to be the most likely suitor now? Either SAC or CHI (Jabari's hometown) might decide, given their current rosters, that testing out Jabari for a few years at SF is worth their while even though they both seem to have young PFs they prioritize. Jabari's camp might decide that given the roster situation, either SAC or CHI are better options than the Jazz even coming off the bench to rehabilitate Jabari's image. Or (a longshot) a team could even use trades to open up cap space to offer Jabari something above the MLE.

So my point is that while it's not impossible something could open up (for us or another team, incl. MIL) relatively quickly, it seems more likely that we're not likely to hear anything until at least July 7.

If they don't want to keep him, I'm sure they would love to get our 1st rounder for signing and trading Parker to send to us. Remember, they lost their 1st in getting Bledsoe.

Some people want the exact same roster as last year plus Grayson. I don't follow the logic

Everyone wants LeBron, KD, Kawhi, etc but it is not reasonable. Everyone wants an upgrade. It is possible that our best option is not making a lot of changes this year and that waiting one year to make bigger moves is smarter.

What bigger moves next year? Most of the league has a ton of money because awful 2016 contracts are expiring and the cap is going up $8 million.

2019 space promises absolutely nothing. Hell, look at the Lakers. They have space and a legacy and they can't get anyone.

I'm getting the sense that the Jazz will try to retain Favors, but if he decides he wants a new situation, they'll try to facilitate a sign-and-trade so Favs can make a bit more money and the Jazz can get something back in return. They should have a good enough relationship to make that happen either way. The Jazz have probably already worked out a couple trade scenarios.

That's probably how it'll happen. I see it as a 3 year deal with a PO in year two and TO for year 3. That way, Favors has options in that, if he wants to try FA next year, he could. If he wants to hold w/ Utah, it gives the Jazz something to work with when Donovan comes due. Positive sum game basically.

Because it's possible that Jabari actually cares what team he ends up signing and playing with. The Kings can offer him money, but then he'd have to play in Sacramento for the next few years.

Deandre Jordan is off the market. Cousins may be off the market and is risky since he's mercurial and he's injured. Teams like Washington, Milwaukee, maybe Charlotte, etc. would do well to trade for Favs. If the Pels lose Cousins, they could use Favors too.

And the Kings just drafted a guy who resembles him a little bit. Bagley is also a big who excels on offense but not so much on D.

Bagley doesn't rim protect and doesn't really stretch the floor. He's a good player, but the Kings could use someone who checks these other two boxes.

There's a big difference between Curry's sore ankles and Parker's blown knees. Curry was injured, but still played. Parker? Not so much. And Curry's production never dropped to the extent Parker's did. Apples and oranges.

He can still be taught defense, it's true, but he will lose a step after blowing both ACLs. That's just going to happen to any athlete. So we're left with paying on potential and a gamble that won't likely pay off. I have no issue at 8 to 10m. But paying him upwards of 15m+ is Ryan Anderson sorts of stupid when he likely won't blossom as we want and who we are going to lose to do that.

Not necessarily. He's still young and if he can step away from the buffet and get in top shape he'll be fine.

Has anyone seen a recent photo of Parker? How soft is he?

If Chicago doesn’t sign LaVine then I think they can be in on Parker... honestly would rather have Parker than LaVine.

Second tier restricted guys like Hood will have to wait.

How can you not like a guy who always gives full effort? I really hope for the best for AB too.

Great attitude and it’s cool seeing him grow up and be a good dad and father.

I will always hate Paul pierce... derailed a career cuz he didn’t want to get posterized. Someone shoulda busted his *** in that game.

From being an exciting young prospect who could bomb aways 3s, he now has to wait for Doug McBuckets to get his deal done. If he had accepted his role and appreciate what he had here...

Sucks for him and I kind of feel bad but so much self inflicted pain.

Someone mentioned Burks for Delly. Would be interesting to do Parker/Delly for Favors/Burks.
