Jabari Parker could be had fairly cheap

You remember when GS gave Steph a 4/44 and everyone thought it was risky because he couldn’t stay healthy and couldn’t play defense?

A one year deal has no upside... I prefer to get him for less, but A healthy Jabari is basically exactly what we need. Young guys suck at defense... he has been coached by Jason Kidd who ran one of the dumbest defensive schemes... he can improve... he’s not Kanter.

He was benched in part because his coach is dumb and his team has to combo forwards that are better and more established. He’s got loads of potential... it’s just health imo... 15-18 I think gets it done long term... if he’s healthy is a bargain... if not any deal sucks.

Scared money don’t make none.

There's a big difference between Curry's sore ankles and Parker's blown knees. Curry was injured, but still played. Parker? Not so much. And Curry's production never dropped to the extent Parker's did. Apples and oranges.

He can still be taught defense, it's true, but he will lose a step after blowing both ACLs. That's just going to happen to any athlete. So we're left with paying on potential and a gamble that won't likely pay off. I have no issue at 8 to 10m. But paying him upwards of 15m+ is Ryan Anderson sorts of stupid when he likely won't blossom as we want and who we are going to lose to do that.

What are the chances that Parker goes down with a third major knee injury?

Has he seen significant diminished athletic ability yet?

Depending on the day I blow hot or cold on signing Jabari. But if signed and if he plays as he did pre injury, he could potentially be the missing piece...

Me too... when I watch him though you see how big he is and how well he moves... I think he could end up scoring 25 a game at some point. Great skill set and physical tools... I could see him bullying smaller wing/stretch fours.

He might not get better on defense though... or stay healthy... if he was healthy and played good defense then I think he’s a max player...

Agreed there. But his knees won't allow it. Not a chance honestly. One ACL is a worthy risk. Both? Not so much.

Curry’s ankle problems were serious... he had several sprains this year... ankle problems did in grant hill and neutered deron Williams... those things were serious at the time and many thought he was too small to play.

I have no doubt Jabari is a good offensive player... if healthy. Defense? I don’t know but he has more physical tools than curry did.

It is a gamble but it isn’t a Chandler Parsons level gamble imo.

parker is 100% gone from the bucks, Gianis appearantly doesn't like him nor bledsoe.

Now the question is, do u rly want parker? I know hes a mormon bla bla, but wtf has he done? hes had like 2 knee surgeries....He looked like *** last season.

The Jazz reportedly wanted to trade up to grab either Wiggins or Jabari in that Exum draft right?

Why would they not want him now? What's changed?

You hadn’t heard about his injuries and poor play?

It’s troubling for sure... I don’t know enough... smarter people than me told me it was not as big of an issue than you’d think... I don’t know.

Yeah but how about Exum? We're willing to still keep him right?

Ya for super cheap. And I’m betting the jazz would want Jabari for super cheap too.

Parsons wasn't Parsons level gamble back then. Plenty of people wanted to offer him a contract instead of Hayward.

I saw some dunks from him at the end of last year and he looks plenty athletic.

We aren’t talking the amount though... 3-4 deal at 48-60M is not the full max he got.

I’m probably a little high on the amount but I think he’s approaching the range where it is a good gamble... at 4/80 and giving up assets to get him... like was discussed during the season... he’ll no!

Benchwarmer if the team is healthy

I’d almost welcome antrade for his sakes... he’s been a good soldier and helped in the playoffs. I’ll always be on TeamAB!

I wonder if we could work a side deal with the Bucks to so they don't match on Parker.

For example, we trade Burks for Dellie (who has $9.5 million on his deal for 2019-20). So actually, we get $2 million more to spend this summer since Burks makes $2 million more than Dellie.

So for the Bucks to shed that 2019/20 money, they don't match on our $12 million deal for Parker.

I don't understand why the Jazz would rather have Favors than Parker, Parker would be such a better fit.
I think they'd rather have both with Jabari as a 6th man cuz they don't want to dedicate that many resources to a guy like Jabari.

Maybe a sign and trade of Crowder+Thabo? No idea.

Correct me if I'm wrong: the RFA market won't really start until July 7, after the moratorium ends. No team is going to put out an RFA offer and give the player's original team all these extra days to contemplate the offer. And I highly doubt (though suppose it's technically possible) that Jabari's camp would agree to any sort of S&T before giving the RFA market time to develop.

So in other words, there's probably nearly a week to wait until we hear anything solid about Jabari.

I didn’t expect to be here... but I’m like openly excited if we run it back on good deals for Favs and Exum... really hoping we get those guys back and totally fine with status quo... emotional roller coaster.

But if you know Atlanta, Chicago and Sacramento are out then you are done unless it’s midlevel. Atlanta or Chicago will get Zach LaVine... sacaramento? Who the hell knows but if you go there you likely go with the idea of requesting a trade.

A team can sign their own RFA right now. Another team can't sign a RFA until July 7.

But yes, if it's a sign and trade, it could be arranged right now. Honestly, I feel that is the way this whole Jabari thing will go.
