I don't like this at all. While I think Mayo has matured some as a player in Dallas, that highlight vid didn't do much more than convince me he's not somone I want on this team. I know he was feeling it that night but taking pull up 3's with 18 secs on the shot clock and bringing the ball up the court then dribbling for 12 secs without a single pass is not how I think this team will win going forward.
I think on a diff Jazz team he'd be great at this point in his career, but not as presently constituted. Play what we have and add a few vet backups to fill spots. Play out the season and see what we have. Worst case the kids do ok and we don't get a great pick. Well, we still have money to spend going forward. Mayo would be a stop gap that would put as right back in the middle again.
Nothing against him, just don't think it fits a real philosophy.
