Jazz May Be A Part of 3-Team Deal w/ Clippers

that sucks. that's mo and his agent basically telling the jazz, "make the deal if you want, but you have to make it on faith if you want to get it done today, because we're not going to tip our hand." hate it when players do that and hold three teams hostage with their plans two hours before the draft.
Especially because it's Mo freaking Williams

Which teams with late lottery picks would rather have Harris than Hill?

probably anybody would rather have harris than hill. harris is a near-star-level player with 1 or 2 elite NBA skills. george hill is a fairly regular role player with no elite NBA skills.

but that's not the point. they're not competing directly against each other and that wasn't the argument to begin with. the argument was shouldn't a player of harris' caliber command a higher asking price than a role player.

Then the Jazz should tell them to go pound sand.

Why? Wouldn't you want to explore every option before making a huge decision in your life?

I never said they were 894 years apart; no misconception whatsoever. 3 years can make a pretty big difference in pro sports. Hill's game should age more gracefully than Harris's has.

Not to mention minutes played, which is generally a much truer measurement of practical wear than literal age.

Here is a bit from the SLtrib: T. Smith says:

A source with close ties to a player mentioned in the reported trade said Thursday they were aware the Jazz were interested in acquiring Williams.

A high-ranking Jazz source said they hadn't heard anything about the reported trade and asserted the team was focused on the 2012 NBA Draft.

Another team source wouldn't comment when reached but didn't deny the potential trade.

Williams holds an $8.5 million player option with the Clippers next season. The Jazz could absrob Williams' contract with a $10 million trade exception acquired in the Mehmet Okur deal.

Mark Bartelstein, Williams' agent, represents the Jazz's Gordon Hayward, Earl Watson, Jeremy Evans and DeMarre Carroll.

Bartelstein did not immediately respond to a message about the reported trade.

Seriously, what options does he have? He's getting MLE money at absolute best on the open market, and 3 years would be a stretch. Mo 'exploring options' is just a nice way of saying he's praying his fairy godmother shows up.

I was away from the computer for 20 min. and we're talking about "Fisherman" now?!?!

WTF?!?!?!

PKM telling me to "Prove it" was him trying to get me to argue. I didn't take his "bait" and called him a bad fisherman (because he talks about how he use to fish religiously).

Moping and flopping? A role player is more valuable than a washed up ex-All-star.

Let's try to get this absurd George Hill nuclear level tangent back to reality:

If the Jazz could've traded Harris for no salary back and the 15th pick, does ANYONE truly believe the Jazz declined?

It's still something you have to do. You don't just get the phone call and say "Sure" you do your due diligence and make your agent earn his money.

Dude, he hooked you and reeled you into the conversation. That sure sounds like a fisherman to me.

No. Not one who is younger, more controllable and likely cheaper. Harris is fool's gold at this point. Buyer beware.
